Fantazija surpassed the very high hype. The mussels were the best mussels I’ve had throughout Split, Dubrovnik and Hvar. My wife greatly enjoyed cabbage appetizer. We ate here last year and I had the best tuna ever. Decided to go again this year. It didn’t disappoint - very buzzy environment, great playlist, informative staff who appear to be enjoying their profession.

It takes guts to open up a small-ish bar, put up a sign on the wall that says "You're f*cking free" and then charge 45 euros for a main dish. But Fantažija pulls it off comfortably. Some of its dishes (the arambaši for example) may...be a bit of an acquired taste, while others (like the beef tartare) are simply incredible. All of them are memorable. But Fantažija's biggest asset is its lack of pretence - it doesn't indulge in any Michelinesque chiquery, and keeps its vibe low-profile and relaxed. One of the best meals I’ve ever had. The best Mediterranean food I’ve had ever. Staff was fantastic friendly fun. Made me feel very comfortable. Go for the five course option. But be very hungry. It’s a lot of really good food. Take the wine...selections as well. Excellent staff. Very easy to get a table. Seems to be just beyond site of the cruise ships. So not very crowded at n a Saturday night 19:00. I have no problem getting a table. Loved it.More
