Finding a unique place among many restaurants and cafes where food and drinks can please your palate is priceless. One of such places is surely the restauran -cafe Bajamonti, located in one of the most intriguing Mediterranean squares, Prokurative. It was named after one of Split’s most meritorious mayors, Antonio Bajamonti who, in 1859, built the most modern Dalmatian Theatre of the 19th century, today’s restaurant-cafe. The interior of the restaurant – cafe with carefully selected paintings from the cinematic past bears witness to its past. Wanting our guests to feel as comfortable as possible, every detail was carefully chosen; the flowers on the tables change with the changing of the seasons.…
Located in the middle of the Republic Square, Bajamonti steals a march on its neighbours by having outside heaters - essential for outside dining when the temperature drops.
Good food and pleasant service My ravioli with prawns was delicious.
If you’d like to wait about 40 min for a burrata salad looking at a half-empty restaurant and non-smiling waiters - this place should be your choice for a lunch 😉 Although, my friends have said that steaks were delicious - so, it might be...so. Or, perhaps, my friends were too hungry 😉More
The food here is fantastic and good value. But I called to reserve a table for the night time one afternoon and was told that they don’t take reservations. A couple of days later we turned up without making a reservation (because we were told...that we can’t) and we was told there’s no free tables because they’re all reserved, even though there was only 3 tables being used (it was early in the evening, maybe 5:30/6pm). So we had a meal in the restaurant next door, which, by the way was busier but we was able to get a table there.
Seems like a strange way to run a business.
If you manage to get seated here, you won’t be disappointed. It’s some of the best food in Split.More
Lovely setting . Right in the middle of the square. Had fish for main and it was delicious. My son had fish also. Nice wine and beer options. Table next to us had huge steak that they shared. It looked quite good. Awesome dessert- choco...crunches, chocolate and Carmel. Service was ok.More
Ended up eating here twice as we enjoyed it so much. Food was nice (recommend the chicken dishes and pizzas!) but the atmosphere was just so friendly. It was a top notch location where you didn't feel you were being rinsed for money. Very reasonable....Will return next year!More
Amazing restaurant. We went here twice during our stay in Split and tried several different meal - all of them were great. Fresh fish and seafood, tasty pasta and sauces, crispy and thin pizza with good amount of toppings.
Would come back anytime when visiting...Split.More
Decided to visit Bajamonti with a couple of friends at the peak of the season (make reservations!). Great location and excellent staff. Ordered the ragu with homemade gnocchi as appetizer - simply delicious. The gnocchi are small and fluffy, not making you feel too full...afterwards; the ragu tasted great as well. For our main course we had the aged T-Bone steak which was grilled medium rare to perfection and tasted amazing. Simply the best steak I had in Split and a great experience all around. Highly recommended!More
