Overpriced Restaurant

We were expecting a very high quality gastronomic exeprience and a service to match - sadly we were quite disappointed on both counts. While the starters were very good, the mains were nothing to right home about (we had grilled lobster and langoustines) -- was quite surprised that for an early evening dinner they had run out of prawns. We had to ask for the crab claw crackers and the crab claw forks (we were initially told that they were running short and then miraculously a pair appeared !!!!) The lobsters were very fresh but no where warranted the prices charged for the lobster Michelin star worthy??? Not at all...

Food good, below average service

We had advanced reservations for this restaurant at 6:30, fairly early. We were seated and told, rather rudely, that we'd need to leave by 9 and that there would not be time for the tasting menu with wine pairing that we wanted. Somehow they managed to serve us the tasting menu, dinner was rushed, and the restaurant was never full. For a Michelin starred restaurant, I expect more.

Nice view, OK food

Located at the western tip of the harbour of Split overlooking the boats, boosting one of the best evening view of the harbour. You can take a taxi for 6-8 minutes, or walk like 20 minutes from Split old town. We seated at the outside with a nice view. Since we arrived late, we ordered a la cart menu. The starter is a platter of different seafood. I would say this is quite nice to have different types of seafood in one plate, and those very fresh. My main course is a pasta cooked with a thick sauce of seafood such as fish meat, fish bone. The pasta taste very good, but you do not find meat of any seafood such as shrimp, scallop, or fish. Portion is relatively small but since it is late, it is ok if you are not very hungry. Service is quite good overall, and I do no have complaint about it. Price is on the high side as is other tourist restaurants in Split.

I felt thoroughly underwhelmed by our visit to Zorno. We opted for the tasting menu, which with wine pairings came in at over €100 per person, so not cheap. It started well with a selection of tiny fish dishes and a lentil risotto of sorts which was the highlight of the meal. The fish soup was average and the cuttlefish with bulgar wheat was no better than we'd had in town a couple of nights before. The final fish dish was okay, and the steak again was adequate, but not exceptional, being served with a dry salty prawn dumpling which for the price you pay would lead you to expect far better. I'm very fortunate to have been able to eat in some great restaurants, but this isn't one of them and the reference to Michelin may be correct but I found it to be misleading. The food and wine pairings were unimaginative and the food uninspired. What didn't help was my view was of the back entrance to the restaurant and I was frequently watching staff go outside for a cigarette, while trying to enjoy a meal with my wife. 5* it really isn't and we left feeling disappointed and wouldn't recommend it to others.

Underwhelming

When we entered the manager said something like "What do you need?" We were dressed in jeans and winter jackets and we wondered if that didn't fit the standards? Why else would we be there but to eat? The waiter didn't seem to be informed about the menu choices, so we ordered items that seemed workable, if mysterious. Each of our selections proved tasty, although the portions were tiny. Overall, the prices here seem at least double compared with similar places. When we arrived two other tables were leaving, with the two of us the only customers. We ate as fast as we could and got out of the place. There's probably a reason the place was empty on a Saturday evening.

We went to the business dinner with high expectations, which unfortunately did not materialise. The food was, on average, medium well prepared. The starters were actually poor. For the main course, the fish (sea bass) was really tasty, and the side dish was also of a good standard. We were a bit disappointed with the dessert, which was not bad, but could have been better prepared. By far the most disappointing part was the service. The waiters were rude, I could even say very unfriendly and impolite. They have no idea about service. As an example of their incompetence, I can write down two examples: after the first starter, they started picking up the plates to prepare the table for the next starter and the waiter simply shook the cutlery from the plate onto the table, specifically onto the fresh cutlery for the second course, thus dirtying it, the tablecloth and the fresh cutlery, and when we asked for new cutlery, he brushed it off and walked away, unhappy. In another case, the waiter simply removed a still half-full glass of expensive wine when one of the guests went to the lavatories and refused to bring a new glass, much less the wine. Considering the prices that the restaurant charges its guests, they are absolutely too expensive for what they offer. It is not a problem to pay if everything is as it should be. I am sure I will not be seen here again and I really do not recommend this place to anyone.

We went to this restaurant from the beach, our driver has recommended it. If only we knew where are we going...I would def come more prepared 🙂 the place, the quality of the service, the food... everything from top to bottom blew up our mind. 100 out of 10!!! My husband works in this industry, and he would always notice those little things the staff would do wrongly. He was highly impressed!

First and foremost, the food was incredible. We ordered the 6 course dinner menu. Best food we had on our trip by far and we had travelled to over 5 other countries and cities prior to coming to Split. The service was impeccable. Never have I felt more at home. Yvan, our server, was world class. He was extremely informative about menu items, was extremely accommodating for our group considering we were quite challenging customers. All in all world class experience.

Excellent food and absolutely amazing service!

Had a beautiful evening with my boyfriend for our 5th anniversary. Great location (with a car park near by), fantastic view (sea, boats, what more could you wish for??), lovely and fresh food. We may have ordered more than we could handle but it was too good to leave any. I must mention an amazing service. All of the staff is very professional, very good at what they do and even though they're super busy, they keep doing their job perfectly with a smile on their face. Special thanks to Sven for the kindest service and to all of the chefs that presented their food in the best possible way. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be back.

Ruined Expectations

We were recommended by another Resturant in Split. Told the seafood was amazing and to order the lobster. While ordering we found out that Shell fish -N/A Lobster -N/A Soini Lobster -N/A Portions are way to small Pasta Dish way undercook Waiter not polite at all. No a fun experience for our vacation. Would not recommend!!

We had a spectacular meal at Zrno Soli, a six course tasting experience, all courses balanced and expertly paired. The grilled sea bass is rivaled only by the black cod at Le Bernardino in New York. Our waiter, Ivan, was superb. Highly recommended and memorable

From the moment I tried to book table, the staff were communicative and very helpful. We were celebrating an anniversary and, as originally requested, the waiter brought out the bottle at the start of the meal with no prompting. They had reserved a good table for us out on the balcony too. The taster menu was excellent with perfect pairings and surprisingly good value. Highly recommended.

Enjoy being at the edge of the harbor and the view. The place has a good feel to it Too bad about the smoking but it is like that all over Split. Service for us was good and professional. The local white wines suggested were also good. The St Peter fish was fresh and good. Also the mixed seafood appetizers and the branzino carpaccio. Enjoyed the black jakob scallops and the St. Stephen seafood risotto. The burattina and boskarin just ok, the scampi so so. It is a hit and miss with this place but you do have some very good choices. The Bocel in Trogir is another level but in Split this is pretty much the best choice for seafood

Disapointed from start to end

Disappointed with the overall range and the general place, which was more like a station and not an exclusive restaurant. The service was quite slow, the windows overlooking the beautiful bay of the Split waterfront were dirty. The quality of the food was acceptable, but less than we expected. It's hard for me to recommend the restaurant to anyone, although I'm sure it doesn't even matter to them.

Tasteless rip-off

There must be something questionable about the Michelin Guide recommendations in Croatia. This restaurant, recommended and even awarded for its "gastronomic creativity," lacks a competent cook and would benefit from using decent ingredients, let alone good or excellent ones. I have never eaten smaller or more bland scampi in Croatia. Another dish was something like carbonara drowning in cream! The pricing is also unfair; I received the same invoice for a small lunch as I did the evening before for an exquisite dinner at a much better restaurant in the same town. This is simply a shame. They don’t know how to cook, and they shouldn’t pretend otherwise.
