Happy Cow hasn't been letting me down until now. Reviews were very positive for this restaurant but I'm not so sure why. We came early (probably just after 5PM) and received a far from warm greeting. We weren't sure whether we needed to sit or order at the counter or...Eventually we sat. My partner ended up ordering the daily special... More

The four of us wandered off the beaten tracks of Split into Makrovega and immediately encountered a simple and serene environment. Though presented with a long menu, our choice was made easy because the prix fixe set of the day was hard to resist. All four of us chose it. The set started with a wonderfully rich and subtly flavored... More

After a long walk around Split we were starving for some healthy food. Emphasys on healthy. My friend had a soup which was good, but my kebab was missing taste. Combination of seitan and tofu didn't work at all as the taste was very blend. I would have prefered grilled veggies rather than fried kebab in batter. I'm just sorry... More

Makrovega is a great restaurant, we've been there to have dinner and were delighted. The food was very good and it was cheap at the same time, there's a great quality for money. Special mention to the banana/chocolate cake which was absolutely delicious. The waitress was also really kind and smily.

We order the daily menù for 70 kuna. Pumpkin soup and then a main dish with canapa burger, cheese (or tofu for vegan) and so on.

I absolutely love this place and had to go for lunch 2 days in a row. Went with my parents who aren't vegan but loved the food as well and were happy to come back. We've had the menu of the day which consists of soup, salad and main. They also have selection of burritos, sandwiches or burgers etc. Also delicious... More

We visited Makrovega on a Sunday evening in July. While the server was nice, we were only shown the daily special board and not offered a proper menu. We were slightly confused, but thought perhaps the restaurant worked differently on a Sunday. The people at the only other table with food were all eating the daily special, so we went... More

delicious soup, tasty main (big portion) and salad only 65 kuna, or 9 euro. cake was ok, too. place is hard to find. don't count on gps, it's not helpful in split's old part of the city with some streets are only few meters long. but, ask tourist office or locals and you will be happy to eat here :)

My husband spotted its ad sign by chance and we tried it out for dinner. We had a great meal for a fraction of the cost of a typical restaurant dinner. We went again the following day for breakfast and take away lunch. Everything was healthy, delicious and cheap. The lady at the counter was most friendly. You could eat... More

Very nice food and cheap. I highly recommend it. It was a relief to eat something healthy in Croatia. The restaurant is clean and modern. The bathrooms were clean.
