After a pleasant experience from last year I visited Konoba Matejuška again. It was a great decision. Everything was very tasty, from fresh fish to very high quality wines from Dalmatia. The atmosphere is very good and the staff extremely friendly. :)))
Lovely evening at this restaurant, one of the best meal we had and we traveled the whole country from Dubrovnik to Zagreb. We were seated outside to our great pleasure but seating inside is great also. Very pleasant help for the wine, it was well...selected.
We ordered a whole sea bream for two people. Excellent choice, our waiter offered and executed to bone the fish in front of us, great craftsmanship and professionalism, service was timely and delicate, always good interventions. Preparation was simple yet precise, it takes a lot of experience to cook a fish this well, great cooks in the kitchen, it was very well done. Sides were roasted vegetables, good selection and again, charred to perfection.
Globally a great meal, about 800 kunas ($160 CAD) so on the expensive end but the quality was top notch therefore the whole experience was outstanding and we would recommend. Less is more.More
We first visited the restaurant because breakfast was included in our apartment's price. Breakfasts, while they get a bit monotonous after a few days, are really tasty and filling, and the staff is great. We decided to have dinner at the restaurant, too. It might...be a bit pricey, even for Split, but it's totally worth it. It was by far the best meal we've had in Split, hands down. Local Croatian fish dishes, local wine and desserts were delicious. And the service was fabulous - not that common in Split, by what we've encountered. If you want to go, book in advance - it tends to be full in the evenings, and no wonder! We will return for sure.More
The service here was outstanding as was the food. I had the black risotto and was not disappointed! It was so tasty and filling. The restaurant is set in a gorgeous little street and has a modern/traditional feel. Well worth a visit.
