We went here after a recommendation from our accommodation host if we wanted 'Tipico' food. In Antigua, whilst there are some great food options, it wasn't that easy to find Guatemalan food and so we were glad that we came here. You order at the counter and they had their standard menu and also a dish of the day. Note that the menu at the counter is all in spanish. We had a pork loin dish, which was a generous serving size, tasty and great value for 30Q. They also provide a complimentary drink with each dish, which I think was a sweet rice milk. It was pretty good too. They accept cash only and wifi is available.

Visited on a guide recommendation and was pleased. Great quality food at a great price. It can get pretty busy with both locals and tourists, so plan to wait 20 minutes for food if staff is preoccupied. However, it’s worth the wait. Certain times of day can leave you with a seat that has blinding sun, but I wouldn’t avoid a meal here because of that. Just walk in and place your order at the window to the right, bring your number to the table of your choice, and wait for the food. Great complimentary corn tortillas being made on the grill at the entrance!

This restaurant is lively and the food is a great price! You go up to the counter to order from a fairly limited menu (your choice of meat, potatoes, and tortillas), and it comes out fast. Overall we really enjoyed it, however the chicken was quite dry and stringy. If you go, I would recommend the longaniza sausage! Don't expect to be waited on--the servers are a busy bunch.

Go early or late. Roasted chicken meal with sides is just 30 Q. Freshness and quality peter out late afternoon, so try to hit it at 12.30 or before. Coleslaw can overflow into other parts of meal, so ask to skip that if you’re not a fan.

Highly recommend checking out this eatery during your stay in Antigua. It has amazing authentic food. It was recommended to us by a friend from Antigua and is highly popular with the locals. You can tell it has delicious food as the place is always busy! We tried the Almuerzo de pollo a la lena which was only 35 quetzales and came with soup, an entire chicken leg quarter, potatoes, salad and a drink. Amazing food for the price! It was so delicious my boyfriend had to order a second dish! Just to be aware they accept ONLY CASH.

We came here the first night we spent in Antigua. I would have go back if I could. Vegetarian will also be very happy here with a super tasty plate of potatoes salad, greens and rice. I really enjoyed it.

We went late in the day and split the longaniza entree. It comes with a huge portion of tasty potatoes and fresh, thick tortillas. The little sausages were a bit too spicy for our tastes, but good nonetheless. Order at the counter and they will give you a number to take back to your table. Someone will bring your food out. A good place for large groups.

Good filling food at low, low, price. 30q for a quarter of roasted chicken, potatoes, and slaw with a drink! That’s about $2.50 US. The chicken was wood fire roasted before your eyes. Crowded large dining area on weekends but tranquil during weekdays. You have a choice of meats and sausages also if you do not want chicken. Probably not a great place for vegetarians. The serve an inexpensive breakfast which I am yet to try. Order at the desk and they bring the food to your table. Comes with homemade tortillas!

On discovering this spot, I returned daily. This authentic Guatemalan fare is exceptional in terms of taste and value for money. I speak no Spanish and am vegetarian but managed to order successfully every time. The place is full of locals and buzzing with energy. A must stop on your next trip to Antigua.

Authentic food that locals like to recommend. They may not have everything available on their menu because when they run out they truly run out! That is a sign for their desire to serve fresh local cuisine at a very affordable price. Service is not the best but it is worth a stop while in Antigua.

We came here 3 times during our time in Antigua. You can’t beat this price and this delicious food. The chicken which is roasting in front of you is sooo good and comes with nicely seasoned potatoes, a delicious salad and fresh tortillas as well as a refresco drink included (the flavour changes every day). Any day of the week is good but there is a lot of locals on Sunday so the yard is very lively! Order first then grab a table!

I love this place. The food is delicious and the price is so reasonable. I had a delicious bowl of bean and chorizo soup, scrambled eggs, chorizo, hand made tortillas and a drink for five dollars! Such a bargain for awesome food. My only disappointment was that they were not serving lunch at 11 am. The special was pepian con pollo!

This isn't a place you stop for a fancy meal but it should be where you go when you are hungry and on a budget. The chicken is quite tasty and for a large portion and only about $4usd it was a good deal. They do not accept cards so be sure to have cash available.

Good place to go for lunch if you want a real Guatemalan experience. A little difficult to order if you don’t speak Spanish. I had the hilachas which was tasty. My wife had the chicken which was dry, but she very much enjoyed the potatoes that came with it.

We walked in and it looks like a warehouse. Right before closing and they only had chicken and pulled pork. we had each, and there was a ton of food. The chicken looked like a half chicken. Food was great. 2 meals and 2 beers less than $15. They speak little English and the menu doesn't translate well, get someone to help you, or wing it. Don't be intimated by the warehouse look, Go on in.
