Nice tipical food and drinks. Low prices and good meals. A few vegetarian / vegan options - nothing special but big portions!

If you want to eat typical and cheap Guatemalan food, the Rincon Tipico is the one for you! There are limited food options depending on the day, but they are so good! I would recommend the chicken and the stew over all, with roasted potatoes....Don't even let me start on the included lemonade: honestly the best I've had during the whole trip in Central America. On another side note: the place isn't great and it's quite dirty. But if you close your eyes and just enjoy the food, you won't regret it.More

On the corner next to Tanque de la Union, Rincon Tipico was highly recommended as a place for local cuisine. We were not disappointed. We went twice in one week for lunch! The servings are generous and super tasty. You can see the huge open...rotisserie where they roast the chicken. Compared to the many lovely restaurants in Antigua, the setting is forgettable, but the food is NOT! Prices are very reasonable too! There is always a line out the door. We didn't make it here for breakfast, but I've heard it's terrific too.More

Really disappointed by this restaurant. The restaurant itself was very cute and had a nice atmosphere. However, we ordered the "tipico" dish which includes several items. They ran out of one item on this dish and said we had to order something else, they couldn't...replace that one item with anything else. When we ordered the steak, they severely undercooked it. The service was slow and overall not a good experience.More

Was a bit disappointed given all the glowing reviews. I ordered the standard chicken, potatoes and salad, which comes with two tortillas and a glass of lemonade. It arrived to my table in about 3 minutes and it tasted like it. It was good but...nothing special, perhaps because it’s so cheap. If you’re looking for a good meal I would recommend going elsewhere.More

This place is definitely not overhyped. It was around the corner from my hotel and I got in at 2, so the staff directed me here. For Q35, it’s probably the best non fancy meal I’ve ever had and it’s hard to not keep going...back! You will see the ladies making fresh tortillas out front. They are only open 7a-4p right now. The meal to get is the pollo asado. It’s rotisserie chicken, a yummy salad, and grilled potatoes. Sounds super simple, and it is, but it’s spectacularly simple. The meal comes with limonada and I was advised by some expats that it’s safe to drink. Sad I only had a few sips, but I’ll be going back for more!More

This isn't a place you stop for a fancy meal but it should be where you go when you are hungry and on a budget. The chicken is quite tasty and for a large portion and only about $4usd it was a good deal. They...do not accept cards so be sure to have cash available.More

The flame grilled chicken and potatoes were delicious and you get a lot of food for the price, so it’s a good deal. I wasn’t a fan of the chile rellenos but the mole and plantains were tasty. My one complaint would be the wild...birds all over the place, pooping everywhere and flocking onto empty tables to eat scraps. It was pretty unsanitary and grossMore

You feel like you've had chicken and potatoes just about every possible way, right? Wrong. I couldn't believe how delicious they prepared even the simplest of ingredients. Take that, and add on top a really beautiful courtyard, fantastic handmade tortillas, and an oven-made experience right...in front of your eyes, and you get an authentic and unforgettable experience. Highly recommend it! Great prices, too!More

I love this place. The food is delicious and the price is so reasonable. I had a delicious bowl of bean and chorizo soup, scrambled eggs, chorizo, hand made tortillas and a drink for five dollars! Such a bargain for awesome food. My only disappointment...was that they were not serving lunch at 11 am. The special was pepian con pollo!More

Highly recommend checking out this eatery during your stay in Antigua. It has amazing authentic food. It was recommended to us by a friend from Antigua and is highly popular with the locals. You can tell it has delicious food as the place is always...busy! We tried the Almuerzo de pollo a la lena which was only 35 quetzales and came with soup, an entire chicken leg quarter, potatoes, salad and a drink. Amazing food for the price! It was so delicious my boyfriend had to order a second dish! Just to be aware they accept ONLY CASH.More

Authentic food that locals like to recommend. They may not have everything available on their menu because when they run out they truly run out! That is a sign for their desire to serve fresh local cuisine at a very affordable price. Service is not...the best but it is worth a stop while in Antigua.More

From what we remember it was about £3 GBP for a meal. That’s half a chicken, potatoes, salad, bread and a drink.
