Toko Baru was founded in 2008. The menu is quite eclectic and can be described as pan-Asian and mid eastern. Toko Baru strives to serve a great quality meal for a fair price. Toko Baru has become a staple among locals as well as the expat and traveler community in Antigua. All food is prepared locally and Toko Baru prides itself on some very tasty meals like the Shoarma Kebab- The choice of how to eat the meal lies with the customer- the options are: in a Pita Bread- in a wheat tortilla (as a burrito) or on a plate with Rice.All meals are served with our sauces- a yogurt garlic based sauce, a fruity sauce – and a very hot version of a Sambal sauce (made out of local chilies).
I ordered the Beef Rendang and it was so good. The staff (including the owner) was very attentive and even talked about the ingredients and process of making the dish. Really good prices and huge servings. I would definitely come back on my next visit.
We ate here twice during our stay. Small menu, not many options for vegetarians unless you are there on the day that the special is a vegetarian curry although they do a few other vegetarian meals which are not curry based. Cheap, approx 40Q per...More
I had dinner here on my first night in Antigua and i must say it was good. I love indian food and spicy food this plate was not too spicy and portion was big. Reasonable price too. Recommend it and i would definitely return here...More
