Hospitality was expertly demonstrated! We are from Southern California and thought the food was as good as it gets. Service was excellent and the owners made us feel very special. NOT a tourist trap, rather an excellent vacation dinner place.
What distinguished Fridas from other restaurants in Antigua, Guatemala is that it had a more cosmopolitan, upscale vibe. The Mexican style food was good, but it was also elevated - much more of a fine-dining than a casual experience. The scene was lively. We had...to wait to get seated, so we ordered drinks at the bar. There were plenty of families & groups in the restaurant. But, I went with my husband and the restaurant is definitely romantic too. A great location, beside the historic yellow arch. Highly recommend.More
Mexican food but with a healthy upscale bent. We ate tuna tacos, ceviche, and pork nachos. They were all delicious. The lemonade with ginger was especially refreshing. Pricey for Antigua but great ambiance and food. As with all restaurants in Antigua, they took Covid precautions...seriously!More
I am not ashamed to admit we ate at Frida's three times in three days. This restaurant is nice and clean and follows all COVID precautions. We ate our body weight in chips and guacamole all three nights. It comes with three different salsas- mild, medium,...and hot. We also had delicious Micheladas all three nights. We consider ourselves Michelada connoisseurs and these were spicy and refreshing. The Gobernador tacos made with shrimp were scrumptious. We bought some yummy mezcal and Alex was kind enough to explain the difference between each of them and guide us toward what we wanted. We also loved the avocado and mezcal cocktail and the mint margarita. This place has something for everyone. You will not be disappointed. All the staff were kind and patient with us and welcomed us like family. Do not miss if you are in Antigua. We'll be back,Frida's!More
Loved this place so much that I went FOUR times in my one week trip to Antigua. Such delicious food, all the dishes. Had aguachile, tartar, fajitas, and octopus tacos. Also the nicest waiters and bartenders and excellent drinks. Atmosphere is fantastic. Really fun music...at first floor and love music on top floor. Also great to people watch from the bar . In great part of town for that. Wish I had this place at home.More
Amazing food and service! I came here solo on a Monday night and ordered the burrito and decided to get a guac and chips. All way too much food for one person. But I’ll be taking half of it home to enjoy tomorrow. The guac...and chips is so amazing and every ingredient the burrito was just top notch. They also have a few good craft beers on tap. I had the Sin Novio IPA from Antigua Cervezeria. The service was also friendly and quick and they are accommodating ti non-Spanish speakers too. I will be back here many times!More
We came to Fridas for app's and drinks. The music was good and so was the service and food/drinks. Definitely make a stop here - it is close to the famous arch as well which is cool to see at night.
Fun little gift shop...in the restaurant as well. Felt very cleanMore
Great vibe full of people even mid-week. Fun and creative design and branding. Had the mezcal maracuya and three types of tacos - baja fish, fresh tuna and shrimp, each better than the last. Highly recommended!
