I've heard lots of people and travel books talk about eating at the Rainbow Cafe. We gave it a try and were not impressed. The inside was drab. Pain had peeled off the walls. It was not at al like some of the restaurants in Antigua with beautiful court yards. The prices seemed a tad bit above average. We opted... More

We had the most enjoyable and relaxing lunch here: tomato soup and a delicious toasted sandwich. If we'd had time, we would have returned. Casual relaxed ambience. Great spot. Well-priced!!

We ended up stuck in Antigua a few days longer than we expected due to a volcanic eruption. This cafe became my second home. found the food to be delicious - I had both nachos, Gallo beer a plenty, and a decorative, open air atmosphere with murals and live music on some nights. The food was affordable. Service, as Antigua... More

Never been much of a fan of the Rainbow because it is dusty and dark. Also, though they have WiFi, they do not have plug=ins for a laptop. When I finally went in recently, I was surprised by the food --I had the lunch special --sandwich was delicious, soup --I could have had a better tasting soup at home. Their... More

We came for a dinner and found out they have live music event which made dinning much more pleasant. We also like the vegan options in the menu.

Ate here each of our three mornings in Antigua. Great spot for some hangover-curing eggs and bacon and some OJ

The Rainbow Cafe was one of my go to spots for breakfast/lunch and the occasional coffee break. Conveniently located 2-3 blocks from the Central Park and Arch, the Rainbow Cafe offers a great casual dining menu. The entrance to the cafe looks almost like a bookstore, but opens up (like most of the restaurants and cafes) into a charming courtyard... More

I heard this place attracted a lot of tourists so I was reluctant to go there. So glad I did, Antigua has a hustle and bustle that can be overwhelming at times.. so this place is nicely tucked away from that. I LOVED their breakfast. After the first time, I kept going back for their delicious coffee and Desayuno Chapin.... More

Several of the restaurants we were interested in did not accept US dollars or credit cards and as we were there from a cruise ship, we found this restaurant did. We just had a snack - tomato soup and beans and rice with tortillas and it was filling and reasonable. It seemed to be popular with the locals.

We ordered the hummus and pita plate, which was wonderful! Both were very very fresh. Soup was just OK. I had the Greek chicken which was also really really good. The place has a good vibe in service was very good.
