My husband and I ate here twice during our stay in Antigua and both times the food was great and the service was prompt and friendly. I recommend their smoothies which were especially tasty.

Lo máximo one of the best foods in Antigua period. You can go with friends, family or co workers. The music is good the food is good the ambient is good the service like in any place in the world it has its hiccups but...it’s usually very good service depends how packed it is…More
My wife and I had dinner last June 7th night at this restaurant and enjoyed it a whole lot. Our food was great, Nelson (our waiter) was very pleasant, professional and friendly as well as the other Staff members who treated customers with incredible gentleness...and respect. Muchas gracias Nelson por haber sido tan servicial y atento con mi esposa y conmigo durante nuestra cena en la noche del pasado martes 7 de junio, tu atención fue única y muy apreciada, felicidades!!!! In dining with a few friends to celebrate a birthday, one of our group mentioned how much she liked the shrimp in orange sauce, which is apparently only available on weekends. It sounded good so I ordered it, figuring the price would be in line...with other menu offerings, with which I'm familiar. My bad for not asking the price in advance! When I got my check for nearly Q300, I almost fainted from sticker shock. Q225 for a half-pound of shrimp in some mediocre sauce? For less than that, I could have had the duck! I know what shrimp costs in Guatemala so I know that the markup on this dish is stratospheric. And so, nearly $40 USD for a glass of wine and a few shrimp. These are beyond US prices! I've eaten at Hector's a number of times over the years but it'll be a while before I return. Tourists pay whatever to flock to this place but there are better options for those of us who live here.More
Great food great drinks and great vibes overall, would recommend the burgers and fries but the meat can be good too
Our evening meal here was excellent - would highly recommend the boeuf bourginon. One of the best restaurants in Antigua. Great drinks and atmosphere. Make sure you visit if you’re in Antigua!!

Hector’s has not closed — it has moved! The bistro that earned a well-deserved reputation as one of Antigua’s finest eateries has left its tiny hole in the wall in the shadow of Merced church for spacious new quarters on 6th Street Poniente # 24....The menu is essentially unchanged. The only real difference is the much larger universe of customers who may now enjoy some of the best French cuisine in Central America without having to wait outside for a table.More

Very nice place with a chill ambience, good music and really good food, we tried the datils wrapped in bacon and the prosciutto, manzana, arugula pizza, both really good with a bottle of rose wine.

We spent 3 weeks in Antigua and after discovering Hectors for appetizers and drinks one afternoon, we went back 3 more times! The service was super friendly and welcoming, the owner himself stopped by our table to visit, and the food was excellent! The local...beers were very good - I liked the Chelita Linda and my husband liked the Dale Pale Ale. The pizza was good, the sweet potato fries amazing, everything we tried was excellent.More

For a special treat, this French-style restaurant is worth the cost. Lonely Planet describes it as having only a few tables, but it has been greatly expanded. There is lots of seating. We ate dinner there on May 23, 2021. We ordered beef bourgignon and...roast duck, two of the signature dishes. Both were first rate. The duck was served with au gratin potatoes and grilled grapes. The beef came with roasted potatoes. Wines are reasonably priced. We ordered a Carmeniere from Chile. The waitress was friendly, helpful, and very cute.More

Delicious food but they consistently make mistakes on my order. No, it's not OK to take my dish back and fix it. The steak will come back washed and cold. It's too bad. They could be top notch if they put in just a bit...more effort.More

First of all the restaurant has moved. It’s no longer next to La Merced. It’s a nice place for sure, with some seating inside, an inner courtyard and candles at night. For someone who doesn’t eat meat I found the menu quite limited, particularly as...I didn’t want pizza which is a good chunk of the menu. There are daily specials as well. The complimentary olives were a nice touch and the salad was excellent. The pasta dish we both had was good, but not as good as I expected given the hype of this place. That said, given its reputation and setting I would go back on a future visit and try something different, especially on an occasion where I wanted a nicer meal/experience.More
The duck with roasted grapes was excellent. I am fond of duck and travel often & this was by far the best I have had overseas: including Europe. Management needs to CHANGE LOCATION ON TRIP ADVISOR!!! It is not near Iglesia de Merced...it is 7...blocks from there & a far walk when you have a planned time to eat. Please update. The food was amazing.More
