NICE MENU AND GOOD CENTRAL DOWNTOWN LOCATION

In town on business, I asked Adrian-based friends where to have lunch and was directed here. On Main Street two blocks from the County Courthouse, Chomp Burger is on a corner with a large parking lot which wraps around the back and side. The parking lot entrance is a little uninviting and it took a while for the hostess to appear but once seated I was prompted attended to. They have a wonderful selection of appetizers (including deep fried pickles!) soups, sandwiches, burgers, and bratwursts. I asked my server to name the three best things on the menu and she quickly did so. I ordered the Ashdown Brat Burger, which is beef and a grilled bratwurst topped with sauteed onions (hold the green peppers) and house-made beer cheese on a brioche bun, which goes for $14.75, along with the Loaded Baked Potato Soup ($3.75). They arrived at my table without delay, looking beautiful and were delicious. Chomp's has a very large fish tank in the center of the circular bar which is stocked with an array of fish, some quite large, but no one working there could identify any by species. I told them as I left they should get a list to hand out to inquisitive customers.

Pretty good

Food and service were very good. Everyone had something different and our server was very friendly and attentive. I have seen many reviews complaining about the prices, but we were just visiting and it’s comparable to the prices where we live. I think it’s a bit pricey for Adrian, but we really enjoyed it! We will be back

Good food, lousy service

My friend and I both ordered burgers - great burgers. But, we had to wait to be seated while the waitress farted around doing busy work. Once seated, we had to ask for menus. We waited quite a while to order, then waited way too long for the food to arrive. Other tables were served much faster. Our waitress failed to come by after we were served to check to see if we needed anything (we did). And, most of the staff were wearing their masks on their chins - even when directly speaking with customers and handling clean plates. Not cool! Plus, at least one waiter dragged glasses thru the ice cubes to fill them. That's a no no. There just seemed to be no one in charge, no one making sure things were done right. Our waitress dropped napkins and silver on the floor in the aisle and we watched several staff members walk right over it all without stopping to pick it up. Overall - very poorly managed.

Went on a Thursday night. Seated quickly since there weren't that many people there. The waitress seemed really on the ball at first. Got our drink orders quickly and came back and took our food orders. This is where it took a turn. We waited an awfully long time for our food. Once the food came, we were happy with our food. However, I noticed that mine did not seem to be correct, but since I was new to this place I ate it. As I was eating, it became apparent to me that the waitress got my order wrong. The food was okay, but not what I ordered and the reason for that is because they have items on the menu that are similar sounding. (The menu also has way too many combinations.) Everyone else's meal seemed to be fine. Again, okay, but not fantastic. What I said was, “Carver’s Bourbon BBQ Fries”. What the waitress heard was, “Carver’s Pork N’ Cheese Fries”. Each time the waitress left our table, there was a LONG period of time before she would come back. When we finally got boxes and the check, she left again and it was a long time before she came back. So, I got up and took the check to the bar and I noticed why there were long pauses. Everyone was just standing around talking behind the bar. So, we left thinking that it might be a long time before we come back to this restaurant.

Don't waste your time or money here.

Grossly overpriced! A simple burger with fries$13🍔 was supposed to be cooked medium to well and was practically burnt. $2 for 2 pc of bacon, $1.50 for a slice of cheese. Hell they even charged $0.45 for a dollop of mayo. I'm surprised they didn't charge me for the ketchup and mustard. 4% added for payment with plastic.

Average Bar Food

The menu consists mainly hamburgers and some extra sandwiches. They have alcohol. It is a sport’s bar with many tv’s and Keno. I got a hamburger for $16.99, nothing special. My wife got a cup of soup and overpriced loaded fries. The service was very good. We probably won’t return.

Eclectic Burger Joint

We stopped after baseball games. Service was great, menu was eclectic for a burger place. We enjoyed a venison burger, chicken wrap and a deconstructed burger. All good choices along with cilantro garlic fries. Look forward to stopping in again!

Good burgers, but safe practices lacking

The food and service are significantly better than the first year they were open. They also have meatless burgers. It’s kind of pricey for Adrian. The bar selection is limited, and the wine choices are pretty sad. Our server did not wear a mask. Others have reported the same safety issue, so we won’t be returning until outdoor dining resumes.

Not just burgers...other yummy dishes too!

Wonderful service. Our server was pleasant, helpful and fun. Ultra clean table area. Hostess gave it an extra swipe before I was seated. The Asian chicken salad is extraordinary! Cashews, peanut sauce, spiced chicken. So fresh and I couldn't finish the half size.

Outstanding!

Very good! I had the smoked chicken, my colleagues had a burger and the pulled pork. This was a great place and the coleslaw was by far one of the best I’ve ever had. The large soft pretzel was great as well. If I retime to the area, I will come back here. The food was excellent with very friendly and fast service.

Long Wait for Average Burger

We visited on a night that the kitchen staff was new. The wait time was beyond belief. When our food arrived we were not impressed. The Edison And Tesla's Jalapeno burgers were OK at best. There must be a really good burger place in a college town.

Very very very expensive

My self and my two grandkids, they had a veggie burger and I had a spicy burger with a couple of appetizers. $102, never ever again and I definitely will let people know about there prices

Masks are required for All-our waitress decided she wasn’t going to wear one!

While the food was good -we won’t be going back as all the servers were not wearing a mask including ours. Just can’t take that chance -will go back some day when there is no longer a virus
