Some solid Whoopie Pies, no question about it!

Nantucket Bake Shop is a small old style bakery about 1.5 miles from downtown Nantucket and based on our one quick visit we’ll be back. We headed out toward the bakery on our self-guided culinary walking tour of the island and had a Whoopie Pie. It was very good and I can see us getting another plus more, maybe a Portuguese Bread, on another trip. The bakery is a decent walk from town but also is on the Sconset bus line if you were headed out there. Of particular note is the nice woman who helped us made a point of thanking us for stopping in, this is a nice touch you often don’t see any more. We saw other regulars stopping in too so even though we were island visitors we can verify locals go here for sure!

Wonderful bakery! Worth the trip! The chocolate box was amazing! If I had known it was so good I would have bought more! So friendly and helpful, since it’s hard to decide what yummy sweet to by!

Can't Say No to Irish Oatmeal Cake!

My husband is a frequent visitor of Nantucket Bake Shop, mostly for the Chocolate Chunkers and the Boston Cream Pie. I am a holdout for the Irish Oatmeal Cake.I have not found such moist nutty deliciousness back here at home, so when they have it at the Nantucket Bake Shop, I am all in! I think they might only make it during the peak tourist season, so enjoy it when you can find it there! Another restaurant offers their version of Irish Oatmeal Cake across town, but there is no comparison in the taste, texture or awesomeness!

Best Homemade Pies

Flaky Crust, Full of blueberries, Perfect. There are a few stores on island selling pies, but they are not homemade- these are truly baked on premise with love. They are our go to for cook outs.

Get the Cake Donut

Keeps getting even better!

Wow! Made a great decision today and asked for one of everything from the cookie display. I had always wanted to do that and recommend it!! Primrose kindly served me and also helped pick out two beautiful blue vintage t shirts. Just the right thing to do on the way to the waves at Surfside Beach. Magee and her magic remain wonderful, year after year.

Best Baked Goods on the Island

We rented a house this trip to ACK and it was very close to the Nantucket Bake Shop. Man, oh man, were we happy about that! We bought baked goods for breakfast every day. The cherry coffee cake was outstanding, as were the cinnamon buns, croissants, and muffins!

Heaven on Earth

For years, this bake shop has been our #1 destination on Nantucket. Magie and her friendly staff offer a variety of special items with cheerful service. We love every offering, including (to name only a few) the Sconset Sweet, Salty Oat and Chocolate Chunker. There are three sounds that define Nantucket for me -- the horn on the ferry boat, the crash of the waves at Surfside Beach, and the sweet jingling of the bells on the door of the bake shop. Easy to get to, near the rotary. Go and enjoy! I wish I could join you but vacations don't last forever...

Best Pastries on the Island

The new location is a bit out of the way (use to be on Orange Street), but the pastries are worth the trip out of town. Double Chocolate Chip cookies are the best as are the breakfast danish rings. Worth the Trip!!!!

Yummy food - staff needs to step up

Always a great standby for bread, muffins and those awesome elephant (now called mouse) ears, but the staff was not friendly nor up to snuff on any of the 5 days we visited.

So sorry you were disappointed. I make no excuses for unfriendly staff as there is none! BTW we also make elephant ears as well as mouse ears-some people prefer the smaller treat to the giant cookie!

ordered decorated wedding cupcakes and decorated sugar cookies

I am from out of state, called a week in advance and it took over 30 minutes on the phone to order a dozen cookies and a dozen cupcakes. The person who answered the phone was not helpful and seemed like she had never taken an order before. I was very specific and asked for 12 large decorated wedding cupcakes as they were for a wedding vowel renewal. I also ordered 12 decorated sugar cookies with Nantucket theme. The cookies were ok, at least they were decorated and tasted ok. The cupcakes were a hug disappointment, very small, not decorated and I couldn't even tell what the flavor of the cupcakes were suppose to be. ( I had ordered vanilla) I had them delivered because we had no car to pick them up. Had I seen them I would have refused to pay for them. So, this order cost me over $100 for nothing. The cookies marginal and cupcakes bad. My 8 year old granddaughter could have made better cupcakes. Way expensive and not worth it!
