Have wanted to eat here for years but could never swing it. A fortuitous scheduling allowed us to be on Nantucket at end of season and it was worth the wait. The torchon of foie gras served with cranberries and pecans and raspberry sorbet was...More

It was okay. I think my expectations were too high. Four nights on Nantucket and this was our least favorite meal. Tables were way too close for us. No privacy. They have a large wine selection and a sommelier. Ask for him (Nathan). Wish we...More

Restaurant is very deceiving from the street, as it's much larger when you get inside. Has a really cool bar area. The food was fantastic, and the service outstanding. Felt like there were 4 or 5 different people bringing us things. I had the pork...More

Oran Mor Bistro is located up a flight of copper stairs in an historic Nantucket home. The restaurant has an intimate bar and three dining rooms with attractive earth-toned decor that are a warm prelude to delicious, beautifully prepared food. The bar radiates warmth of the past with its wide plank flooring, pen and ink bar top and gaff-rigged wine glass racks. Oran Mor features handcrafted cocktails from the freshest ingredients, house infusions and specialty spirits. The wine list predominantly features wines from France, small American producers as well as a travelogue of wines from around the world. Oran Mor Bistro is owned by Chef Edwin Claflin. The cooking style is one of inspired simplicity; each ingredient complements one another to create a unique, savory dish. The evolving and innovative menu is derived from the changing seasons and their bountiful offerings. Showcasing native seafood, fresh local produce and naturally raised meats from select farms.
