$550 for a fried chicken dinner for two. Hmm? Nice guys but….seriously?! Truly a question of value for money.

It was a marvelous experience! Courses are being paired with the best wine there is, music is relaxing, atmosphere is just wonderful. Service was great, Johnny is the best!
It was great to return to Company and it’s unique experience on the Island. Exceptional service and a romantic outdoor setting on their back patio. We were there for lobster night and enjoyed every course. The pace was leisurely and every dish was presented beautifully,...and yes, delicious. Our first visit was 40 years ago, we were so pleased to return to a familiar “face”More
Food was excellent! Nothing more to say. There’s no sign out front, just a big cauldron. Inside, very Harry Potter-like. This is an experience, although a bit expensive. Let fir an every day meal but for a special treat or occasion. We loved the open...kitchen watching them prepare the plates. As price fixe, everyone gets the same meal and you know ahead of time what’s on the menu - check the website.More
Our hotel recommended Company of the Cauldron to celebrate my husbands 40th bday. We were so impressed. The beef wellington was phenomenal! So much charm in this little restaurant, and to top it off the staff couldn’t have been more friendly. Thank you for a...special night!More
I was literally shocked by what was served at the Company of the Cauldron tonight. The food was the same sort of quality that one would get at a wedding, institutional and bland. The meat cut was cheap and the lobster was dry. The salad...was as standard lettuce Caesar, inoffensive but nothing special. All this for $165 dollars. Bad night.More
My wife and I had planned a trip to Nantucket for our 50th anniversary. In looking around for dining options for our anniversary dinner, by chance we found Company of the Cauldron. With further investigation we learned the Chef/Owner is Joe Keller, co-founder of the...French Laundry with brother Thomas Keller. As we had dined at French Laundry last month and loved it, this seemed to be the logical choice. We contacted the restaurant about options and their Exec Assistant Jordana Fleischut happily responded and assisted us with all our dinner plans. Jordana and Chef Joe went over the top to make our dining event a night we will never forget. The Seafood Bouillabaisse was incredible as were all the other little things that made the night so special. Thank you Joe and Jordana for giving us a memory for life. p.s. Joe will soon close the restaurant for the winter but you can visit him at one of his restaurants in Las Vegas where he will be creating more incredible meals this winter. Larry & KatherineMore
I have to say, my wife and I had one of the most wonderful and memorable meals we have had in a very long time. We walked by early in the morning and met the chef outside getting ready for the day. He stated he...was going to prepare a fresh line caught swordfish which was caught that morning several miles off the coast of Nantucket. We were able to get a reservation for the one seating of the evening. Every moment of the meal was fantastic, the pop overs were fresh hot out of the pan served by the chef as was everything else. The farm table salad with dates and peaches was the bomb. The swordfish was the highlight of the evening, mouth watering. The homemade apple cake at the end topped it all off. Thank you for such a wonderful dining experience. We will see you again November 19 when we head back.More
The night of September 1st, 2021 brought remnants of former Hurricane Ida across our path. Despite having made September 2nd dinner reservations for the Company of the Cauldron weeks in advance, the storm-related cancellations of all ferries to Nantucket from New Bedford made our trip...improbable at best. Fortunately, ferries did start running from Hyannis that afternoon, so our precious reservation for our anniversary dinner was saved. How fortunate for us! The Company of the Cauldron has been our favorite Nantucket special occasion restaurant for the better part of a decade. The atmosphere is established as you enter the cozy dining room finished with touches from Italy, where the original dining club with this name was established in Florence in the early 1500's. Here you are invited to join a large gathering of your newfound friends, ably hosted by the restaurant staff including Jordana, the sommelier, and the chefs led by Executive Chef Joseph Keller. There is one 7:00 p.m. seating for the dinner and everyone is served the same sequence of courses as the evening memorably progresses. We were seated at a lovely table where the table covering celebrated with us by proclaiming "Happy Anniversary!" Our prix fixe meal began with Popovers with Vermont butter followed by Bartlett's Summer Garden Heirloom Tomato Salad with a citrus vinaigrette. The main course was the spectacular Beef Wellington with wagyu beef from Snake River Farms in Loomis, Washington, melt in your mouth tender and able to be sliced with a fork. The accompanying wine was a rich and multifaceted Hourglass Cabernet sauvignon. With the entree came Bartlett Farm summer farm vegetables including sautéed field-grown carrots, Brussels sprouts, and mushrooms. We enjoyed celebratory champagne with our dessert, crème brûlée with a shortbread cookie. Each course was at the same impossibly high standard as the course preceding it and the following course would be. This was an auspicious start for a wonderful 39th anniversary weekend. The evening's experience was immeasurably enhanced by the attentive and friendly service, making it seem to be a warm family meal (the likes of which few families ever enjoy together, unfortunately). We had the opportunity to taste Chef Joseph's mastery twice more on this trip by sharing two take-out meals: the Snake River Farms Kurobuta pork spare rib dinner (with "Big Daddies BBQ Sauce", warm potato salad, cole slaw, biscuit, and strawberry shortcake), and the fried chicken dinner (with warm potato salad, cole slaw, biscuit, and strawberry shortcake), also delectable chocolate chip cookies. How spoiled we were! We cannot wait to return next year to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary!More
The staff and chef/owner went above and beyond to accommodate my husband and I. We are forever grateful for the amazing food we received. Thank you so much!!
Simply sublime - we have always wanted to eat at Company of the Cauldron on a Monday when they do a special lobster dinner. So glad we got to eat here tonight. amazing popovers, delicious salad and an incredible lobster preparation. It was delightful that...Joseph Keller (chef/owner) joined us for a while. A classic creme brûlée ended our meal. We have a fabulous evening.More
Company of the Cauldron offers buckets of buttermilk fried chicken that must be ordered in advance for Friday, Saturday, or Sunday pickup. It’s 8 pieces of chicken for $30. The sides are a la carte. We ordered Brussels Sprouts for $12 that “serves two,” but...there were only 8 spouts, and we thought that was stingy. The Caesar salad, $15, also “serves two,” was an appropriate amount.More
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. If you see their Beef Wellington posted on the menu, RUN don't walk! It is that good. This is a delicious meal starting with their hot Popovers, Ceasar salad, the tenderest beef (Montana) that literally almost made me cry and...an amazing dessert. Also do the wine pairing - you can't miss. The team keeps pace with your drinking! Who's better than that. Thank you to the Team at Company of the Cauldron!More
Hello Stephen, It was a pleasure! Thank you so very much for dining with us and for especially going above and beyond to share your experience. We take a lot of pride in what we do from sourcing our nightly changing farm to table menus...More
This restaurant has a "table d'hote," meaning that everybody gets the same things to eat. It's just like home, only more expensive. On the day we went, the three courses were Caesar salad, Wagyu sirloin with lobster mashed potatoes and a medley of vegetables, and...chocolate tart peanut butter mousse. That cost $85 apiece. I also ordered a "wine pairing" for myself, meaning that the chef chose a wine to accompany each of the three courses. That cost an additional $60, which seemed like a lot until I noticed that our waiter, Johnny Garcia, kept giving me refills, so I ended up consuming about six glasses of wine. This satisfied me, but my wife was not quite so pleased. We both, however, had splendid meals with perfect service, and I staggered back to the hotel without incident.More

Two seatings and very organized. Very friendly service and lovely atmosphere. It’s just a very long evening..one kind of gets the feeling like you are at a wedding..everyone has the same meal and is served at about the same time. We loved the popovers and...delicious salad. We had the short ribs and polenta for our main course. It was average. We have had short ribs so many times that were absolutely delicious, in other fine restaurants, so we expected the same. The dessert was just okay- nothing special..kind of shocking actually. We had been the week before and enjoyed the atmosphere so much, that we came back. Over all, we felt that it’s Just not that great considering the price of each meal- $95. per person. It is quiet dining and excellent service.More
