Fun to watch the chef work

The staff at the Union Street Inn, a B&B we were staying at on Nantucket, recommended Black-Eyed Susans for dinner, and we gladly took their recommendation. The restaurant is BYOB, so we bought a bottle of our favorite wine and went in to dinner at our appointed reservation time. We were seated... read more

Reserve the seats!! Once you get to the island, I would rather reserve the seats. They had 3 seatings for the dinner. First at 5:30PM Second at 7:00PM Third and last at 9:00PM. Another tip is to take your own wine, suggested by the management. I guess as it varies according to the season, the restaurant cannot keep wines occupying... More

The Thai scrambled eggs and the blueberry pancakes with real maple syrup need to be ordered asap!! Don't miss this place when here and any wait you have is well worth it!!

Order a short stack with whatever else you get and sit at the bar if you can. Bottomless coffee and great service. This place is a tradition. You'll be sitting near people who have been eating there more than 20 years. Lines get long to enter so get there early.

This was a fun place with an interesting menu and dinner was delicious.Only complaint was the pork with chipotle noodles was a bit overpowered by the chipotle. It's BYOB with a $2 corkage fee. That's hard to beat! It is a lovely little restaurant but it is close quarters so it was rather warm inside. Fortunately, we were able to... More

I liked it. But I did not find it to be the extraordinary place that people in Nantucket seem to think it is - I think that it's because most food in Nantucket is over-rated and over-priced so when you find a decent place with pretty good food, it seems pretty darn good. I spend most of my summers in... More

Very good food and fun spot. We love to go where locals dine and this was one of them. Small, quaint and nice location.

Have twice enjoyed breakfast and once dinner at Black-Eyed Susan's and every time enjoyed our meal. Breakfast was generally better with very interesting and well-prepared selections. I had huevos rancheros and a Portugese scramble; wife had French toast...all of these were excellent. Dinner was tasty but not quite as good. One word of caution: the restaurant is SMALL. Dining indoors... More

Great food and staff.. long lines if you're here in the summer after 8am but well worth it! Try the Bluberry pancakes with real maple syrup, the homemade sausage and the Thai scrambled eggs.. Outdoor eating in back for large groups as well..

The inside was hot and humid. However we were fortunate and were given a table outside. The breakfast was good but typical.....hash browns, corn beef hash (not too impressed with this one), eggs any style, lovely crispy bacon etc. etc, and the list goes on. This is a popular and good place for breakfast.
