An overall amazing experience! Don't let the outer appearance fool you, this is the place for sushi. Well crafted and a kind and gracious staff.

Friends who are local to the area recommended this place to us. It is a small "whole in the wall" restaurant that might seat about 20 people. The sushi, nigiri, maki, sashimi, etc. are excellent and reasonably priced. The miso soup that comes with a number of the meals in quite good. I had the tekka donburi for lunch--lots of... More

Toraya has the best sushi northwest of Boston. Always fantastic. It's very small inside with a handful of tables and one waitperson. The sushi chef is busier than a cross-eyed rooster on an ant hill. Only reason I didn't give five starts is because they're closed Mondays and don't do take-out on the weekends.

I have been here more times than I remember. This is my go to place for everything sushi. The fish is so fresh you'd think he caught them this morning. My only complaint-except for the wait time-is the salads could be bigger. The bento lunch boxes are a great value and delicious.

I've heard that people travel to Arlington to eat here. I don't blame them but I am sure am glad it's down the street for us. This way when the small restaurant is full, and it often is, there's not too far to sulk off as we figure out where else we can eat and get the satisfaction we experience... More

Too small to accommodate a crowd, so be prepared to wait or come at unpopular times. Delicious and delicate Japanese food. Enjoy!

Toraya is a little hole-in-the-wall with great food. It's got five tables and a few seats at the sushi bar. Sadly, they don't take reservations, so be prepared to wait. It's not too bad though, because the service is pretty fast. We started with the sashimi assortment and gyoza as appetizers. Both were excellent. My wife had the Kabayaki (broiled... More

So authentic - no cream cheese or red sox rolls... chef is the real deal. It's very small so sometime there is a wait but it is well worth it.

Japanese native approves. This place is legit. The sushi and the rest of the food are very good and true to the origin. With the sushi price being way too overpriced these days, what a gem to get quality and value in the same place. Parking is tricky sometimes, but it is still deserving of 5 stars.

My sashimi bento box included 6 varieties (2 slices each) super fresh sashimi; served with purple shiso seasoned rice, small tastes of edame, pickle and various tasty fried tidbits including gyoza. The wasabi is has strong horseradish "heat." My dining companion ordered the shrimp tempura udon bowl, which he pronounced delicious. Price: Very reasonable. Server was attentive and efficient.
