Samuel's is a real hidden treasure nestled within the charming and quaint Andover Inn. The menu is chock full of New England's finest, chowder, lobster crepes and a pretty good burger. The crab cake is superb and the crepes are extraordinarily delicious. I highly recommend both. They make a really good French Martini and have plenty of other drink offerings... More

Like many others, we noted the single waiter attempting to serve tables in three rooms, and it was quite a while before our order was taken or any food came. My mushroom and lobster crepe sounded as if it should be delicious, but the lobster was tough, and I was almost as hungry when I finished as when I started--in... More

The Andover Inn restaurant used to be a really good, old-school place. But in the makeover some years back, it basically turned into a sports bar trying to also serve "real" food. It doesn't work. Still quite expensive, but the food is ordinary, service barely passable, decor utterly devoid of charm, and bar noise annoying. Skip it.

We take great pride in our menu selection and service approach and will certainly look at your comments as motivation to work even harder to improve on both. American fare done very well, in an ambience of old oak paneling. The place itself will soothe your soul, and the food will do a good job of feeding the body. You won't find a lot of culinary tricks here, but rather tried and true American dishes cooked properly. The whole place is very comfortable, the wait-people are attentive and... More

Love this place! Thursday night with John at the bar is a pretty popular place. He's the best bartender in Andover! Food is delicious and atmosphere is what you'd expect at a New England boarding school.

Always on the lookout for "the best burger" around, Samuels was recommended by a colleague and I quickly checked it out. My first experience was with a group of five for a work lunch and I knew I was in for a treat when the entire table ordered the burger. I was not disappointed. It was fantastic. it comes with... I stayed at the Andover Inn where Samuel's is located so it was a natural choice for breakfast. The staff was very attentive, the food well prepared and tasty. What more can I say about breakfast.

We had a retirement dinner for a coworker here. The service was wonderful, super friendly. The food was nice, everything was great except the steak. The quality of meat they had was pretty poor for a higher end place. The fish and pasta looked great, but the steak was extra fatty and not well cooked. I ordered a medium rare,... More

As we were staying at the Andover Inn for a business meeting, Samuel's was a natural. Food was very good, especially the short bibs with cranberry sauce, which several of us had. These were tender, flavorful, and a very ample portion. The winter spinach salad with goat cheese, walnuts, and beets was excellent, and though I do not normally like... More

There seemed to be only one waiter for an entire restaurant both at dinner and at breakfast. Slowest service imagineable and the food cold and lackluster when it finally arrived. Place has gone severely downhill which is a shame considering how lovely the Andover Inn is. Plenty of better choices in Andover Mass.
