This is a popular place for good cakes and pastries, excellent coffee, bagels and lox, whitefish and other delicacies. Clientele includes students and faculty. Friendly and informal. Recommended

This cafeteria style coffee hang out/ sandwich shop has a very intriguing menu, so I had high hopes, but really nothing here is particularly good. The Sandwiches are OK, but the bread is substandard for these types of sandwiches and they are put together in a way I might do at home if I was in a hurry. I also... More

Amherst has coffee shops but on a winter morning Amherst Coffee had no seats and Black Sheep was just great. Coffee is less pretentious and great as are all the other more substantial food options. I even found some excellent chocolate covered beans for a find along with a fine place to work.

My husband and I took our toddler here for a post lunch dessert treat. We found out about this place from this website and also a recommendation from a friend. It was a special place. We looked at their menu and had wished we had eaten lunch there. Many vegetarian options, deans beans coffee, local and organic food products to... More

we had lattes and one of the turkey sandwiches. This filled us up for a while (we split one sandwich!) They have live music. I would go back in a minute.

Walk inside and you can't go wrong with anything you order. They make their own food and bake all the bread and pastry. Their challah- great! Breakfast sandwiches- great! Pastries- amazing! They sometimes have live music and offer Wi-fi and a decent amount of seating. Love this place, everything they put out is delicious!

I was very pleasantly surprised by this little restaurant in downtown Amherst! You walk in and see hand made pickled items (including lemons!) on a vintage cupboard. The menu is extensive with sandwiches, and wraps on fresh baked breads, and salads galore. There were vegan, carnivore, and gluten free choices, even gluten free bread. They had all the bases covered,... More

Was in Amherst to visit my daughter and we stopped in for breakfast before heading to church. I got the Sante Fe Wrap, she got a toasted pastry, and her boyfriend got the Ham and Cheese Croissant. I got a double espresso and also tried Grown Up Soda for the first time. I got the grapefruit at my daughters suggestion.... More
