I have been two Johnny’s twice in the past few years. Both times my first impression was ‘a hangout for intellectuals and profs’. That’s not very accurate; just my first impression based on the quiet table conversations. But, when one peels off the first layer,...More

This is Boston level food in the college town of Amherst. Every dish is elevated and super yummy. If you are parents visting your child they will love it if you take them here for a nice dinner out.

We were there fir lunch on a dark and drenching wet day, so the soothing tones of the dark wood and low lighting were especially appreciated by us. We had the sweet potato soup, and it was piping hot and quite flavorful and nourishing. We...More

Another visit, this time for lunch. Terrific food at reasonable prices. Bring your appetite as portions are large. I knew the routine, so I did not eat any breakfast. Suggest almost anything on the menu, & they do great appetizers.

We went for lunch and were seated right away. We wanted a window seat and they were kind enough to tell us that a large group would be coming in in case we didn't want to be nearby. We didn't mind though! We shared their...More

We went to Johnny’s Tavern because many other restaurants were closed in the town. They seated us right away and it was full still, and people were having a great time. We ordered the Bavarian pretzel, which was humongous and delicious. The homemade dipping sauces...More
