I understand that every place is short-staffed, but poor service (and food) was particularly disappointing here. We were entertaining out-of-town guests and didn’t want to cause a scene, but our bottle of wine arrived midway thru the meal, my entree did not come with the...potato and veggie as described. I received sweet potatoes that looked and tasted leftover from the day before. Couldn’t identify the veggie (truly). We’re locals and willing to be patient, but 30 Boltwood really needs to step it up. Unforgivable not to serve food that was ordered or give a heads up about changes.More

The food in this restaurant is good, but the service isn't at the same level. There must be a staff issue, otherwise I can't explain the worst service I ever had in a good restaurant.

The room was the opposite from that what was written on the homepage. We booked a king suite and what we had was awful. I asked twice, if everything is correct with the booking. See the pictures. And therefore we paid 500 bucks a night....The air condition did not work correctly and we had a lot of hair from other persons in the bath tub.More

Part of the reason i didn't love the restaurant was due to the lack of knowledge of the waitress. She was very limited help in recommending items, such as which of two items were better, she didn't know the coffee was French roast and never...suggested a mimosa, which wasn't listed on the drinks menu but they were serving. Second reason was that there was almost nothing on the brunch menu that was listed as gluten free. They were able to accommodate my wife by telling her they had gluten free bread but she had to specifically ask... not appropriate in 2022 when they had marked each item as containing gluten or Dairy. They should have instead marked those that could be modified to be made gluten free, which is what most restaurants do. I had the French toast which was good but not excellent as the waitress told us. I really wished i had been told it was deep fried as i probably wouldn't have ordered it but i did enjoy it. The marscapone cheese and berries were a nice touch but the actual French toast didn't have a lot of flavor. My wife had the gluten free version of the breakfast sandwich which was fine but nothing special but there were very few options for her on the brunch menu. The home fries were also just OK. An average meal which was disappointing as i love brunch.More

We had a splendid Father’s Day brunch at 30 Boltwood and it was made even better by the attentiveness of David, our server. He was polite courteous and warm. The meals were hot and scrumptious. Prices… very reasonable. We’ll be back soon!

"30" Reasons We Loved This Restaurant (beginning w/ first impression): 1. Cheerful, helpful, efficient person took our reservation by phone 2. We received a call prior to the reservation to confirm 3. Charming, historic building 4. Ample outdoor seating 5. Ambient gas fire pits 6....Friendly hosts who greeted us 7. We arrived early & were directed to enjoy a seat at the bar 8. The interior was warm and inviting. Modern, yet true to the vintage architecture 9. Fresh flowers throughout 10. The bartender made an incredible Old Fashioned 11. When my daughter ordered a Mocktail, the bartender offered to make her a mojito & said walked outside to pick fresh mint from their garden. 12. Our server was friendly....just enough. There When we needed her, but didn't linger 13. The 3 course dinner - YUM! 14. Gnocchi - this appetizer was the surprising hit of the meal! Rich, meaty flavoring over a perfect gnocchi 15. Shrimp appetizer was served w/small, perfectly crusted breads w/a seasoned butter which were just right to get a but of the extra sauce 16. Flank steak entree - just wow! Cooked to tender perfection & served w/green beans & fingerling potatoes 17. Cocktail - round two. The. Best. Gin. Cocktail. Ever. - the Mammoth! If you like gin, you MUST go here for this drink alone. Made w/Empress 1908 Indigo gin, flower ice, lime juice, simple syrup....just delicious! 18. ^okay, so the "flower ice" had the most lovely, bright edible flowers. It's all about you details. 19. ^still obsessed with that cocktail 20. Carmel chocolate mousse dessert. I'm not a dessert person, but heard it was to die for 21. Odd thing to say, perhaps, but I'm not a fan when it is so quiet you can't have a good conversation without feeling overheard, & we had a fun, lively conversation. 22. It was also not so loud we couldn't hear each other 23. Ladies room was clean, decorated well, & had water closets. 24. We were not rushed, despite it being a busy holiday 25. They source locally - HUGE! Supporting local farmers & proving fresh, quality ingredients, farm to table. 26-30. Can't fit more characters. Go here, you love it!More

Great atmosphere and drinks, consistently mediocre food. I've eaten here four times in the past 3 months and each time I am perplexed as to why the food isn't better. Last month's salmon dish was delicious, except for the mystery yellow saffron topping that had...no taste. Recently the salmon (quinoa & sage salad, roasted local squash, shaved fennel, lavender vinaigrette) was delicious but the accompaniment looked purple and tased a bit like soap. It's a great spot for a date if you it sit outside but spend $50 on drinks and apps instead of the mains. Please work on your Ceasar Salad... everyone orders it and it should be outstanding.More

Made table reservation 3 weeks in advance directly with the restaurant but was told upon arrival that there was no reservation. Salad was extremely small and contained the barest of items listed on the menu. Servers were rude. Would definitely never go again. Sad, because...the restaurant under a former name is in a lovely old inn and previously was a wonderful place to dine. That is no longer true.More

The staff were great. The inn was in the center of town and within walking distance to all. Great place to stay to visit area schools. No frills but clean and comfortable.

We had a great experience at 30Boltwood. We were guests of the hotel and had booked in advance. We were given a table on the terrace, and despite the heat, we greatly enjoyed the evening. The staff was polite, friendly, and efficient, and the food...was excellent. I particularly recommend the excellent Boltwood Burger. Only problems: the orders took more than half an hour to arrive, and the restaurant was also organizing a wedding next door, so the noise level was quite disturbing. But all in all, a very good experience. I strongly recommend the restaurant!More

Everything was wonderful. I have been a Covid scaredy cat and after becoming fully vaccinated decided to take the plunge into dining indoors after a year. Food, staff and atmosphere were top notch! Thank you.

The ambiance and waitstaff were great as was the wine list. The cheese & charcuterie board were excellent also. Then came dinner, our daughter loved her chicken breast dinner. The rest of us felt like it was meh. We had the French onion soup which...was not savory. The clam chowder was bacon heavy and the lobster roll was described as “fine” by a person who eats and enjoys lobster all summer long. My fried chicken sandwich was over fried. It’s too bad, it has so much potential and is a very pretty place.More

The food was decent and the only lackluster item was the dry pork chop. The waitress, Victoria, provided great service and made some excellent cocktail suggestions. Overall, Covid put a damper on really enjoying 30boltwood so we hope to return when masks are no longer...a requirement. We think the ambience and drink selection would make this a fun place to have drinks & nibbles at the bar.More
