The University Club is a hidden gem of the culinary scene at UMass. The menu is fantastic and contemporary. I ordered the steak, which was served with tasty sauteed green beans, mashed potatoes, and local vegetables. The meal was terrific, clearly prepared by a professional, and the service was friendly. Would recommend this establishment for students looking to impress their... More

The environment is pretty charming. You will find yourself in a house built in the 16th century! The food was also good. I had a very nice burger. It is a perfect place for work lunches.

3 of us had apps and entrees. Can't really say anything was delicious. The bread was warm and good however. The waiter admitted that my wine by the glass was 3 days old. All dishes were bland and just warm. Disappointing visit.

We dined at this location specifically because the Homestead House was once owned by our Cowls/Cowles ancestors from many generation ago. We had a delicious meal, great service with beautiful presentation of food. The inside decor of the Homestead and Stockbridge Houses have a contemporary area as well as historical colonial area, catering to many generations. We even enjoyed sitting... More

Difficult to find on the campus but worth the try. It is supposed to be the oldest building in the area. The foof was ok, but certainly not fine dining. The service was ok, but could have been better - clearing plates when others are still eating is a little rude! Would go again, but not high on my list.

This used to be our favorite restaurant. But, wow! has it ever gone downhill! Used to be a real classy and "adult" place for a fine dining experience with truly elegant service with knowledgeable waitstaff. Everything has changed. Our server was extremely unknowledgeable and had to keep running back to ask the chef in order to answer even our most... More

I have eaten here for business and for pleasure and it is always a pleasure. Food is excellent and I appreciate that the menu is limited and perfected. Soups and salads are superb. So are the fried avocado strips (sounds bizarre!) and crab cakes divine. But to top it off, take a walk through all the various little rooms if... More

A friend who lives in Amherst told me about this gem, if you can find it, it's wonderful for lunch (I have not had dinner here). It's in the oldest house in Amherst - seems like a faculty club but it's open to the public. The soups are wonderful, I had broccoli cheddar but still remember how good the butternut... More

The food is delicious and prepared with local fresh produce. All four in our party enjoyed the dinner -- nice herbal flavors presented with very tender meat as a main course (we had duck & tenderloin) and tasty side dishes. The duck had a nice light hickory flavor, and was served with a cherry & apple compote which was a... More

Quaint New England feel in classic home from 18th century. Excellent soup and salad, very interesting appetizers (loved the avocado fries), and the main course...flat iron steak...was also very good and tasty. Overall very good place!
