I travel to DC frequently and sitting in beltway traffic is not my thing so I'm always on the lookout for alternatives and Route 50 thru Annapolis is a good one. Along the way I'm always on the lookout for a place to eat that's convenient ( not to far off the highway). Red Hot and Blue is a favorite... More

This is our go to place for BBQ when in town and especially when attending the Blues Festival at Sandy Point. Pulled Pork, Brisket & salads are great. Good beer selection too.

The service was quick and efficient. The pull park sandwich was overflowing with meat. This is a great place to stop for food before crossing the Bay Bridge.

Stopped on the way back from the beach when our family of four was hungry and not up for fast food. Our waitress Hannah was AWESOME. Friendly and made some great recommendations. They give you individual small pitchers for your beverage. Great idea ! All of the food was fantastic. I had the meat sampler with ribs, chicken, pork, brisket... More

This is a great spot to stop for lunch. They start you off with a mini pitcher of your drink (iced tea or water in our case) and make sure you stay hydrated. The staff is great, our server made recommendations for mixing their signature sauces. The nachos were superb. Made with pita chips, they were strong enough to hold... More

I nearly filled myself up with the salad and this delight! Typical Brit. Eat too much of the aide orders! Fun place to which I was taken by a colleague! Fun

We were visiting from out of town and staying nearby so this was a convenient location to meet some friends. We were seated immediately and service was very good. We are traveling with our special needs grandkids, ages 11 and 9. We ordered early for them but it was a long time before everyone else arrived. Our grandkids received their... More

Enjoyed a nice lunch. Lunch specials are a great deal. Pulled chicken and brisket smokehouse salad was really good. Great place to stop outside of Annapolis.

I'd driven by this restaurant many times when going to/from BWI airport from the Eastern Shore (MD). Finally, I decided to try it. Great menu. The ribs were a bit dry, but they were tasty. The corn bread mini muffins were excellent (sweet, just how I like them). I was also happy to find Smith Island Cake on the menu,... More

Our food was outstanding and the price was reasonable. It was very close to the Comfort Inn. We got our food quickly as well.

Description
Red Hot and Blue is a full-service, casual-themed restaurant chain and caterer featuring delicious award-winning ribs, Memphis-style barbeque, smoked wings, and Southern sides and desserts. The atmosphere is steeped in legendary and contemporary blues music and delivers a large dose of Southern hospitality in a fun and entertaining dining environment. History: The first Red Hot and Blue restaurant opened in Arlington, Virginia in 1988, started by Lee Atwater, Don Sundquist and friends. Don Sundquist was from Memphis and served in the House of Representatives and as governor of Tennessee. The late Lee Atwater was an amateur blues musician and political figure that managed George H.W. Bush's successful race for the presidency. These men were friends who longed for authentic Memphis-style barbeque and great blues music. Unable to find that combination anywhere in the Washington, DC area they decided the only way to get it done was to open a restaurant of their own. The Memphis-style barbeque chain celebrated its 25th Anniversary in 2013 by partnering with a charitable organization at 24 different restaurant locations. The yearlong celebration culminated in the presentation of thousands of dollars in donations to local charities. The Name: The name, "Red Hot and Blue" is taken from the title of D.J. Dewey Phillip's radio show that that aired on WHBQ-AM in Memphis, Tennessee in the 1950s. This radio show launched the careers of Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis and Johnny Cash and broadened the audience for artists such as BB King, Muddy Waters, Robert Cray and Rufus Thomas. Red Hot & Blue Dine-In, Take-Out and Catering. Hickory-smoked Memphis-style BBQ, Ribs, Wings, Beef Brisket, Smoked Chicken, Seafood, Full-service Bar, in a Family-friendly atmosphere with a heapin' helpin' of Southern Hospitality!
