A lively, fun place to grab a beer - great atmosphere, decent food and lots of sailing talk - Crab cakes highly recommended

Great place for Happy Hour and Dinner. It was going to Cheers in Boston. All of the locals come here.

Great atmosphere, interesting artwork all around, superb service, and good food. This restaurant is a little out of the main traffic but it was packed with people. Prices were good and so was the food. They had some of the best fries I've had in a long time. They have a big choice of oysters and daily specials.

Great brunch or anytime. Parking in front or on the side street. Live music often in the bar if you are lucky!

I'm always finding new places to eat, then I take husband back if I know it's a leave he will like. Sometimes it's a bust, he's very hard to please. Anyway, even though this is a seafood restaurant; they make the best burgers ever. Husband agrees, yaaay me!! It was a good find.

I love this little restaurant for it's tucked-away feel on a side street in Eastport and it's cozy New England- style -maritime atmosphere. Good American fare, especially seafood/ oysters/ soups and crab cakes/ bar, and good service. Not pricey like the rest of the surrounding restaurants. Easier to find parking during the week but you can forget the weekends. It's... More

Although not that crowded, we were told it would be a 45 minute wait, so we found a place at the bar and ordered lunch there. Five minutes later our pager went off, but we opted to stay at the bar. Steamed shrimp was perfect, tasty gumbo came with a huge slab of fried catfish, and drinks were good too.... More

We came to the location expecting the "best" crab cakes, but didn't get them. Nice size with plenty of jumbo lump crab. The problem was way to much mustard in the mixture. Was it the batch or recipe, don't know, but couldn't finish them. The waitress did just the bare minimum to get by. The cajunblue tuna was a wonderful... More

Thanks come coming to the Boatyard. I will definitely speak to the Chef. On a busy day we will make 10 batches of crab cakes. It sounds like we got yours a bit wrong. Hope you come and have our crab cakes again. We are very proud of them. Call when you come 4103368880 DF Owner More

Went here for a dinner between meetings and the food was good, service was reasonably quick. Crab cakes were definitely the thing to have and unless you are really hungry, the crab cake sandwich is more than you'll be able to eat.

Went to lunch there to check out the crab cakes. We were very please with our selection and the crab cakes were quite good. The menu is well versed with seafood and the meals that were served to others while we waited looked wonderful. We will be going back again to try some other meals.

Description
The Boatyard is where local sailors, fishermen and lovers of the Chesapeake enjoy pint drinks, great crab cakes and the freshest local seafood. Specialties include smoked fish of the day (on premise), cream of crab and Maryland crab soups and an extensive list of crab and seafood specialties. The First Lady came from the White House to enjoy our crab cakes. The Boatyard has the most extensive raw bar in the area including a variety of oysters, clams, shrimp and mussels. The Boatyard receives awards for being most family friendly and having the best burger on the Bay. Its weekend brunch is the best in the area. The Boatyard is located in the historic maritime district of Eastport-a short walk or water taxi from Annapolis City Docks. Its photo boat films the local sailing races and shows them nightly. Named by Coastal Living, Sailing World and Sail Magazine as one of world's top sailing/boating restaurants.
