They make the best breakfast a person could ask for! You will never go wrong at this diner. They have been in the business a very long time and it shows. Eggs are always perfect, pancakes are crazy good and the service is always cheerful and friendly. Lunch is also excellent with a variety of sandwiches and wraps to choose... More

Wonderful place to have breakfast or lunch. Food was great, the price was better. Staff is friendly and welcoming. Focal point of the down town.

Six of us stopped in @ 1:00 on 31 Oct. Service was excellent! Food was good, reasonably priced with big portions, especially the breakfast plates. Parking on either side of restaurant! Pancakes and French Toast are huge

We stopped here on our drive from Boston to Bangor. The lunch was very good and service friendly. The grilled cornbread was a real treat and our soups delicious.

Found this place on trip advisor and quite frankly was expecting more. That being said, the service was TOP NOTCH! Our waitress could not have been nicer. The food was solid and satisfying.

We stopped in the capital city to see the capitol building. We stumbled upon Downtown Diner. The special for the day was a large bowl of chili and cornbread for $8.99. The chili was very good, but the cornbread was the best any of us had ever had. They bake it in-house. The waitress recommended having it toasted and she... More

We were traveling thru Augusta and decided to stop here for lunch. I was sadly disappointed to arrive after 11am and hear that they only serve breakfast on Sunday's. I'm not a breakfast eater. Anyways, I was hungry so I decided to order the steak and cheese bowl. It was the daily special. My disappointment turned to sudden happiness. I... More

We had a late breakfast. Staff was friendly and gave us good service. The diner was clean and well equipped. The food was "meh" but not unpleasant. The bathroom was neat and clean.

We have lived here for 20 years and never knew this place existed. What a find. Great food, nice staff and clean restaurant. Menu selections are wide ranging for breakfast and lunch. They take credit cards. Right on. Water Street. Front and back entrance. Might be a wait and it can be noisy. We will return. French toast, eggs, fruit... More

Description
Was formerly the Bond Brook Pancake House, Mt Vernon Ave, Augusta, ME. Owners had an opportunity to move into a restored, historic building in the heart of the downtown business district. Even managed to preserve a stained-glass storefront-wide window advertising a shoe store which occupied the site in the original building. Specializes in breakfast and lunch, opening at 5:30 or 6:00 most mornings and closing at 2:00. Numerous breakfast combination plates available whenever they're open. Soup-and-sandwich specials daily featuring their home-made soups and chowders. Simple, straight-forward seating, reasonablle prices, and a staff that can be as fun or formal as you like. Real favorite with "the locals", the local electric and telephone line crews, and downtown office workers. Would suggest Trip Advisor discontinue Bond Brook Pancake House listing -- business no longer exists and rental property where they used to be is now vacant.
