Great, fresh food, friendly, fast service. Where the locals eat. Easy parking (easiest to park behind the restaurant and walk in the back door). We had the eggs Benedict and omelette. Everything was yummy and the toast (raisin) was thick and freshly sliced. Enjoy!

We were on a family vacation in nearby Vassalboro and we stopped in the Downtown Diner for breakfast on Thursday. We were surprised and delighted by the building, view, service and food. Building and view: This is a very old building, beautifully restored, with wonderful hardwood floors, crown molding, extremely high ceilings, and the front of the building is all... More

Stopped here 2 years in a row on our way from Boston to Bar Harbor, Maine for breakfast and a good stretch. Great food, friendly service and polite locals here. A couple miles off the highway but easy enough to find and worth the couple minutes of driving off of the highway. Super clean and open kitchen. Everything is cooked... More

Enjoyed our Thursday morning breakfast and the ambience in beautiful downtown of the capital of Maine. The service was great, and the food was really good. The toast(rye) was fresh baked. Would recommend for breakfast while visiting Augusta.

We stopped at this diner for lunch while visiting Augusta. The diner had quite a few customers at 1:30 PM. The waitress was great took our orders and brought our lunch in a very reasonable amount of time. I had the chicken salad sandwich and it was great, just the way I like it. Everything was freshly made right there... More

The diner is located on a historic street filled with buildings constructed in the early 1800s. It is small and utilitarian looking, but the service was good and the food tasty. Hubby had the hot chicken sandwich special. It was clearly carved and not packaged chicken served with gravy and cranberry sauce. I had a chopped steak that was cooked... More

You know you are in a great diner when you take the last table at lunch time and everyone seems to be local. The service was great and the food was wonderful--it's everything I would expect from a diner. It's also located in downtown Augusta--not far from the State House and Fort Western. Check it out!!

Stopped in for lunch earlier this week Very good--the service, which was friendly and prompt the bacon and eggs Average--the BLT Needs improvement--the onion rings, which, while hot and greasy, were surprisingly tasteless

They only serve from the breakfast menu on Sundays. The food and service were good. We will go again another day to try lunch also.

Kim and her team serve up such wonderful breakfast and lunch. Open early and the fresh baked muffins and cornbread are to die for. Pancakes in seasonal favors are a favorite.

Was formerly the Bond Brook Pancake House, Mt Vernon Ave, Augusta, ME. Owners had an opportunity to move into a restored, historic building in the heart of the downtown business district. Even managed to preserve a stained-glass storefront-wide window advertising a shoe store which occupied the site in the original building. Specializes in breakfast and lunch, opening at 5:30 or 6:00 most mornings and closing at 2:00. Numerous breakfast combination plates available whenever they're open. Soup-and-sandwich specials daily featuring their home-made soups and chowders. Simple, straight-forward seating, reasonablle prices, and a staff that can be as fun or formal as you like. Real favorite with "the locals", the local electric and telephone line crews, and downtown office workers. Would suggest Trip Advisor discontinue Bond Brook Pancake House listing -- business no longer exists and rental property where they used to be is now vacant.
