We stopped here on our drive from Boston to Bangor. The lunch was very good and service friendly. The grilled cornbread was a real treat and our soups delicious.

Found this place on trip advisor and quite frankly was expecting more. That being said, the service was TOP NOTCH! Our waitress could not have been nicer. The food was solid and satisfying.

We stopped in the capital city to see the capitol building. We stumbled upon Downtown Diner. The special for the day was a large bowl of chili and cornbread for $8.99. The chili was very good, but the cornbread was the best any of us had ever had. They bake it in-house. The waitress recommended having it toasted and she... More

We were traveling thru Augusta and decided to stop here for lunch. I was sadly disappointed to arrive after 11am and hear that they only serve breakfast on Sunday's. I'm not a breakfast eater. Anyways, I was hungry so I decided to order the steak and cheese bowl. It was the daily special. My disappointment turned to sudden happiness. I... More

We had a late breakfast. Staff was friendly and gave us good service. The diner was clean and well equipped. The food was "meh" but not unpleasant. The bathroom was neat and clean.

We have lived here for 20 years and never knew this place existed. What a find. Great food, nice staff and clean restaurant. Menu selections are wide ranging for breakfast and lunch. They take credit cards. Right on. Water Street. Front and back entrance. Might be a wait and it can be noisy. We will return. French toast, eggs, fruit... More

Several times a month I find myself hungry for breakfast ....that I skipped...about 11 am...after yoga class and time at the gym. Retired but busy with our small Farm and trying to keep my lower back from "going out" on me... Parking on water Street can be tricky..last Friday I managed to Parallel park my large pickup truck into a... More

A local favorite at their new location on Water Street. The small diner with two front doors, one on the back side and one on the front side. Staff is friendly and accommodating. Handicap accessible including the bathroom. Great variety and prices, good portions. Food is always cooked to perfection, love this place.

Was formerly the Bond Brook Pancake House, Mt Vernon Ave, Augusta, ME. Owners had an opportunity to move into a restored, historic building in the heart of the downtown business district. Even managed to preserve a stained-glass storefront-wide window advertising a shoe store which occupied the site in the original building. Specializes in breakfast and lunch, opening at 5:30 or 6:00 most mornings and closing at 2:00. Numerous breakfast combination plates available whenever they're open. Soup-and-sandwich specials daily featuring their home-made soups and chowders. Simple, straight-forward seating, reasonablle prices, and a staff that can be as fun or formal as you like. Real favorite with "the locals", the local electric and telephone line crews, and downtown office workers. Would suggest Trip Advisor discontinue Bond Brook Pancake House listing -- business no longer exists and rental property where they used to be is now vacant.
