We were there on a Sat night and had 9 of us. Some were late and they wanted to take away our 2nd table which I frown upon. The beers were local and good. The food was good, nothing you cant find anywhere else. What...More

This was a nice place to stop after a long day for drinks. Regular patrons have their own mugs stored at the bar. Would visit again.

We always end up with terrible service unless we sit at the bar. The food is ok, nothing spectacular. Beer is pretty good.

I had the chicken stacker sandwich that was delicious and a generous portion. Beautiful view of the Androscoggin river. The staff was courteous and friendly.

People recommended we eat here, but I was not impressed. I had the fish and chips, but the fish was broken into small pieces and had so much batter I couldn't taste the fish. The nachos appetizer we had was average bar food. The beer...More

Place located on the water and has outdoor tables. Has energy and ambience. Friendly staff. Food wish to be better. Big plates, greasy cooking, salads are a disappointment. Overall menue is less then average and food preparation is not good.

Wow! Eight of us went in for lunch. The back deck was full, there were 3 people at the bar, and 3 other parties in the other room. Only one of the 5 or so tables big enough to seat us didn't need to be...More

In the past two weeks I have been to Grittys twice and both times the service was undeniably horrible. The two waitresses that we had were both not only rude but they had zero personality. Neither of them checked on us to see if we...More

Gritty McDuff's, Maine's Original Brew Pub specializes in hand-crafted English style ales and traditional and creative pub fare, in a friendly and fun atmosphere. Both Gritty's fine ales and the pubs have won countless "best of" awards through our twenty-five years of operation. Our standard brews are session beers, Gritty's Pub-Style Pale Ale, McDuff's Best Bitter, Black Fly Stout, allowing one to have multiple beers within a reasonable time period without overwhelming the senses. Our seasonal and varietal ale offerings are more adventurous, some with a higher ABV, and some with higher IBU. We brew a beer for all craft brew palates. For the diner, we offer traditional pub fare alongside not so traditional specialty items. Our pub-style long tables with benches easily accommodate parties of all sizes and add to the camaraderie.
