Was in town on business and staying at a nearby hotel. Walked over not knowing what we were going to find. Glad we did. The atmosphere is very laid back. The menu has a wide range of food and drink choices. Both meals we had were excellent. The price was also very reasonable. If you are in the area, stop... More

` Great Pub. Great pub. Great menu. What a great find. The outdoor deck was just what we were looking for on our brief vacation. The food and beverages were great and so was the service. They have great menu choices as well as an extensive choices of beer. The view of the river was a bonus.

We took Mom to lunch today at Gritty's. We chose to sit outside on a beautiful breezy Saturday afternoon. As we walked through the pub, it was a comfortable temperature but the sunshine on the riverfront was too good to pass up. Our server greeted us promptly and took our drink order. We then ordered fried pickles as an appetizer,... More

I go there just about every Sunday for Music Bingo. This is one of my favorite local stops as I can see live bands on the weekends along with excellent food... and beer of course!

We stopped here on our way back from the river walk. Newbies in town and did not have our regular kind of beer. Gave us generous sample sizes to choose from. Great beer! We did not eat there due to not taking wallet on walk.

Stopped for lunch while in the area. Lunch on the outside deck. Pleasant day with lots of sunshine. I had the BBQ pulled pork in a roll. The roll was very fresh and the pork cooked just right. Good food for reasonable price.

We had lunch here and sat on the deck rather than the inside, as it was a really sunny day with a moderate breeze. The food was fine, the service was prompt and professional, and the views of the Androscoggin and walking path were relaxing and enjoyable.

Gritty McDuff’s is a Maine-based trio of Irish-type pubs with locations in Portland, Freeport and Auburn. We visited the Auburn restaurant. Located smack in the middle of downtown very close to the bridge to Lewiston over the Androscoggin River, it is a rather large, fun place to enjoy good company, typical pub food, and a selection of many different beers.... Gritty McDuff's, Maine's Original Brew Pub specializes in hand-crafted English style ales and traditional and creative pub fare, in a friendly and fun atmosphere. Both Gritty's fine ales and the pubs have won countless "best of" awards through our twenty-five years of operation. Our standard brews are session beers, Gritty's Pub-Style Pale Ale, McDuff's Best Bitter, Black Fly Stout, allowing one to have multiple beers within a reasonable time period without overwhelming the senses. Our seasonal and varietal ale offerings are more adventurous, some with a higher ABV, and some with higher IBU. We brew a beer for all craft brew palates. For the diner, we offer traditional pub fare alongside not so traditional specialty items. Our pub-style long tables with benches easily accommodate parties of all sizes and add to the camaraderie.
