Gritty McDuff's, Maine's Original Brew Pub specializes in hand-crafted English style ales and traditional and creative pub fare, in a friendly and fun atmosphere. Both Gritty's fine ales and the pubs have won countless "best of" awards through our twenty-five years of operation. Our standard brews are session beers, Gritty's Pub-Style Pale Ale, McDuff's Best Bitter, Black Fly Stout, allowing one to have multiple beers within a reasonable time period without overwhelming the senses. Our seasonal and varietal ale offerings are more adventurous, some with a higher ABV, and some with higher IBU. We brew a beer for all craft brew palates. For the diner, we offer traditional pub fare alongside not so traditional specialty items. Our pub-style long tables with benches easily accommodate parties of all sizes and add to the camaraderie.

Came into Auburn/Lewiston area from Boston on a Sunday night. Restaurants closed early---8:00pm? Happily found Gritty McDuff's. Great pub food and fabulous drafts. Couldn't have been happier, particularly since we were worried that we had arrived into town "too late" for a decent meal.

When I'm in the area I always try to stop in at Gritty's. Great fish & chips -- and the fries are actually terrible, but it doesn't matter because the fish is so good! Lightly breaded, so you are eating fish, not batter. Terrific beers -- brewed in-house -- and a great selection and variety; samples are offered if you... More

True pub style food with a good variety including vegetarian food. The food is delicious and of course with it good Gritty's beer-- IPAs, Stouts, Ales, with seasonal specials. Can be a little noisy, but a fun place to go. Service is very good. Some nights have live music later in the evening,

A friendly place that is usually busy and it feels like you are in the middle of it. Good beer, simple food, my favorite is the pulled pork sandwich. Tables small and large allow a choice of intimate or group conversations. The noise level can make hearing others difficult. The food is good but most people go for the friendly... More

When we went early afternoon there was hardly anyone there. Which we didn't mind. The food was excellent. I had the fish and chips and my wife had the Chicken fingers. It all tasted homemade. Prices were very reasonable as well.

Spouse and I had 2 hours to kill over lunch while on vacation traveling through Lewiston and came upon Gritty's downtown Auburn, which is right across the river from Lewiston. Being great weather at the time we snagged a table on the patio overlooking the river. The server was a bit slow but she also had a large crowd at... More

We had the nacho's and the size was enormous. Each item listed has to be paid for separately, cheese, jalapenos, olives, chili, etc. etc. It was so good, so much, and we could not finish it between the two of us and had to take it home. The price ended up being $20.00 but it was so much, and so... More

The back deck is amazing during the summer months! The long tables are perfect for our typical, "anyone wanna grab dinner/drinks after work?" Then anywhere from 2-12 ppl show up;) the drink specials are ok, beer is microbreweries style and served room temp, food is good, but nothing special. I recommend the 1/2 order of lobster (or kielbasa) Mac n... More

Just a great hangout for family and friends. A brew pub with a wide of brew try the stout my first go to and it was as good as any I've tried. Another thing you have to give a try to is their fried pickles, never had them before and they were very good for a late night snack. Excellent... More
