Abbeville doesn't offer very many good lunch spots for large crowds. We go after early PM meetings. The food is good and the lunch menu is good. The service is good, too.

My wife and I drive for 1.5 hours to eat at Shucks. We enjoy a Bloody Mary and love the charboiled oysters. The raw oysters are fantastic. I usually eat some type of grilled and blackened fish. My wife likes the crab cakes and the fried seafood. The staff is some of the nicest people you will meet. No matter... More

The station master at the Amtrak station in New Iberia recommended Shucks as the "go to place" for oysters. The shell fish was iced and I bet they came off the boat that very morning. The horse radish relish was heavenly. I followed the half dozen raw oysters up with a fried oyster po' boy sandwich. The wait staff goes... More

Went here for the first time this summer, by recommendations from a family friend. The place seemed pretty packed judging by the parking lot (during lunch) - but we got a table right away. Ordered oysters with jalapeños and bacon, as one in the company didn't eat cheese. Originally none of the oyster dishes were w/o cheese, but our waiter... More

Food was great but what really stood out to me was Mr David Bertrand, one of the owners coming to our table asking if we were enjoying our meal and thanking us for coming and inviting us back. That's something rare these days. We definitely will visit again.

I have found the food to be so so..although it is very popular. They have recently started serving shrimp and grits which is a hit

I found Shucks average at best. Thought the food was fairly average, service was average, prices about average, but did not like the "warehouse" atmosphere of the place. Full open seating and a bit noisy. Not a place for an intimate dinner with refined food. Let's just call it "Okay" and not much more.

What a great local restaurant to eat at.... The own walked around and gave dinner suggestions and helped with a friendly smile. My husband said some of the best catfish he ever ate. My shrimp was amazing and the salads and blue cheese dressing oh so yummy. Great portion sizes. We will be back
