Went to Richard's while visiting the Abbeville area on the advice of our RV campground host. Typical Cajun restaurant with boiled crayfish and other Cajun items. The first thing that we noticed was that the prices were much higher than other comparable Cajun restaurants in the area. Since the prices were so high we ordered a couple of appetizers (fried... We drove for an hour out of Lafayette to a town called Abbeville. Our dear friend, whom we had come to visit and who lives in Lafayette, had told us this is a wonderful place for seafood. I was frightened by the idea of eating boiled, whole crawfish, but I decided to give it a try. When we drove up,... More

Great early season crawfish, quick service, fresh shrimp but the best of the best is the seafood gumbo. To die for. Friendy staff and country prices seal the deal. Park in the lot before the restaurant.

Time was, this was the place to go, down the bayou in Abbeville. That was then, this is now. In this part of the country, just because you have a funky tin-roof boil house, that isn't enough. The food has to be great, as well. Boiled crabs here are still good, and if that's all you're looking for, then all... More

Just what we wanted to find, shrimp and crabs by the dozens. It's not pretty, but we had good service and excellent food on Saturday night. Didn't try the buffet, I wanted crabs and shrimp. I'm not a local, but the crabs were hot and very good. I had shrimp boiled in Bloody Mary mix, very good, will try this... More

This is THE PLACE to eat crawfish. There is no other place like this, get there early. Seafood gumbo is a MUST. The crawfish are big and juicy. The boiled shrimp are tasty. The seafood buffet has it all gumbo, catfish, frog legs, gumbo, étouffée, etc.... Never had a bad experience here its always been consistently good as we have... More

We went to dinner with 20 other people and had a wonderful time. We lined up outside an hour ahead of opening to make sure we got crawfish. They get about 300 pounds a day. It is early in the crawfish season, so they were small to medium. Most of us had the boiled crawfish. A single portion of three... More

Crawfish hands down is the best here. Big and always seasoned perfectly! Hamburger steak is great with the grilled onions grilled under steam! Ask for Megan Richard to be your server!! Best there is!!
