Best crawfish in Louisiana

This is the place for local cuisine including the best crawfish I’ve ever tasted. This is where the locals come to eat seafood and why not, with a full selection on the buffet and a full menu to order from, you can feast until your Cajun eyes bulge! It might not look like a 5-star restaurant on the outside but once you taste the fresh seafood, you’ll be back…just like the locals and us Georgia folks.

Best crawfish around!

The best crawfish and crabs around! They really know how to cook crawfish. Slightly out of town but really worth the drive.

Well, tonight My husband and I went to our favorite seafood restaurant “Richard’s Seafood Patio” in Abbeville for boiled crabs! They are always delicious there and we have always been satisfied. They have a policy that if you have a crab that is not full, they will replace it! We have NEVER, in the 15 or so years we’ve gone there ever sent a crab back or complained about the food because it has always been delish, but tonight was different. I opened a crab that had very brown meat and a couple sections of the crab didn’t have meat in it so when the server came to the table I asked her if I could have another crab because the meat didn’t look right. She said she didn’t think they would because it wasn’t empty but she’d go ask. She returned telling me that the female owner said NO. They only replace empty ones. I told the server she could let her know how disappointed I was in her decision and we probably would not be back. When we went to check out and pay our bill of $156 I told the owner that I was very upset with the fact that she wasn’t replacing the crab. Again she said only if empty. I said that we would not return or suggest their restaurant. She shrugged her shoulders at us and wouldn’t look us in the eye. I said, our bill is $156 and you can’t replace one crab!? We asked the server if she would eat the crab, she said no and when We asked the owner if she would eat that crab she laughed and said yes. She was very rude and displayed unprofessional qualities. We are sad to say that we will not be returning to the restaurant again! We’ve been going there for 15 or so years like I said and never complained! I know she recognizes us and still wouldn’t try to satisfy her returning customers that travel over an hour (which we also told her) and always has a bill of $100 or more! Keep your crabs Richard’s!! I also take back my recommendation to go there! I am 😡 mad. Looking for a new best boiled crab restaurant ! 🦀 🦀 🦀

Best Boiled Seafood in Town

If you want the best boiled crawfish or crabs around, Red's is where to go. All seafood is seasoned to perfection, and you're always guaranteed to be satisfied. Red's has been here my whole life, it's a run-down dive, but, that's what makes it great. Service is always fast and friendly.

Best Boiled Crabs in the Area

This 1950’s iconic seafood Boil House is one of my favorites for boiled crabs. Big White Lake Crabs that you can purchase by weight of each Crab. I am so happy that we are finally getting the chance to purchase some of the large crabs we have been sending to Baltimore.

Great food and service!

The crawfish was $25 for 3 lbs and one half of a potato. With that said, it was delicious. The server went out of her way to make sure we were happy with our food and drinks. It was a wonderful experience to eat with the locals.

Great cajun food near Laffayette

Richard's (pronounced reeshards), is truly authentic cajun...not fancy and a local favorite...crawfish, catfish, etoufee, it's all good...32 minutes south of Lafayette and should not be missed.

We weren't Leaving Louisiana with out a Boiled Seafood Experience!

We're from Abilene, Texas and we were on vacation. We wanted to take our friends from Kaplan to supper before we had to go home and I wanted a good old fashioned Louisiana style boiled seafood supper. I was not disappointed!!! The food on the buffet looked so awesome that we ditched the original plan and had the buffet. It was excellent and we had a wonderful time! Loved the boiled shrimp and seafood gumbo most of all. We really enjoyed our server too... she was a sweetheart. (I want to say that her name is Danni; she even walked out with us and visited for a few seconds in the parking lot...who does that??!! ♥) Really good food and a no-frills, comfortable family style atmosphere. Next time we're in town, I will want to go again. Thank y'all for the warm Louisiana hospitality!!

Crawfish

I visited in early may and it was the weekend of ULL graduation so I was looking to get out of Lafayette. Stopped at Richards it’s off the beaten path but so worth the trip. The crawfish was soooo good and the beer was cold. They also had a pretty good menu of other foods but I stuck with the bugs.

Great Gumbo

Ate here with family cause hubby loves the seafood gumbo. It is really good. FIL loved the fried alligator! They also had shrimp and egg stew on the buffet, can't get that many places. The waitress was super nice and attentive too!

Just like home!

Richards was opened when I was a toddler. It ha been consistently great crawfish and crabs. They have ventured out to buffets in the past few years. Still great cooking.

Great crawfish

We usually eat in, but we picked up our orders instead, we had the boiled crawfish. We called it in at 4:30 and was told to pick up at 5:20. That’s exactly when they were ready. The crawfish was hot,large and was great to eat. Richards never disappoints us.
