Let us dine like we have not (for the most part) dined before. Anytime we feel like family in another country is great. We the Mom is chatting with us and the Son is preparing food for us we are fortunate.
Now if you accompany...that with a tasting menu that would make Gordon Ramsey jealous you have a hit.
Each course was explained to perfection and eaten to perfection.
Thank you for the experience.More
This restaurant I feel is so close to being a great restaurant, but they really struggled in my visit. It's a prefix 8 course meal. Presentation is fantastic. All the plates look incredible. That said only some of them are delicious and for the price...I had somewhat higher expectations. Also, they really really struggled in the service category. I got the tasting plus drink pairing. They were already forgetting the drinks by the second course and I ended up having to ask them 3 times for the drink that accompanies the plate. There were some prolonged gaps between the dishes, again at $150 a person you have slightly different expectations. There was plenty of food, I left full for sure. Overall an enjoyable experience, but really missed on the cost/value consideration.More
Walked into Riesen as the doors opened at 7 and was welcomed to a quaint, small, very intimate place. The fixed 8 course meal was incredible. All foods were prepared and made in the restaurant and all foods sourced locally. The cuisine itself was extremely...authentic. The servers were great and the woman/hostess explained every intricacy of the 8 course meal
In detail(in English). All 8 courses were incredible. If you re looking for a way to taste local Panama, this is the place.More
The staff was very friendly and warming. It was a very authentic and cozy experience. Each dish is made with local and organic foods and it gives you a great taste of the culture in Panama. The food was also very tasty. I recommend to...anyone!More
We really enjoyed our dinner at Riesen. A perfect combination between Panamanian food and modern presentation. We liked the flavor combinations and the sophisticated (European) atmosphere. And we received a warm welcome by the host. Highly recommended!
Everything about this restaurant was exceptional. A very warm friendly welcome - in fact we were made to feel more like friends than customers. And the food was just incredible and very innovative. We opted for the tasting menu which is basically a little of...everything on the menu and nothing disappointed. Every dish was carefully explained to us and beautifully presented and delicious. The flavours were incredible. And the freshly made bread was very good.
We started with a lovely and really different Mojito and then had white and rosado wines from Greece, which complimented the food perfectly and also gave us something different to try.
Loved the fact that we got to talk to the chef and to learn how the dishes had been prepared with locally sourced ingredients. He obviously is very passionate about his cooking as is his delightful grandmother who came to chat to us.
Lovely family run small restaurant well worth seeking out. Not cheap but worth every penny.More
As a US student working abroad, I actually came to Riesen for my birthday. I was taken aback by the delicious, fine dining experience. Everything is prepared in house, from their fresh baked breads to delightful sauces and mains. Each plate was accompanied by description...of the cooking techniques involved and the dish's significance to Panama cuisine. As an English speaker studying Spanish, I valued the option to converse in my preferred tongue. I can't say enough about their phenomenal dishes! I wasn't surprised to see Riesen is one of Panama city's top rated restaurants.
The restaurant is completely family run. The hostess (mom) was extremely welcoming and took the time to get to know me and learn about about my Panama experience. The head chef (son) prepares amazing dishes and his fiancé helps with orders. Really couldn't have asked for a more welcoming dining experience. Will definitely return for the great food and atmosphere if I'm ever back in Panama City.More
I dined here while in PC and enjoyed their extended tasting menu with accompanying beverage pairings. This is a wonderful restaurant that any foodie should enjoy. Each item was delicious and was enhanced by the chef who came to the table and explained how each...item is grown and prepared. They also have an a la carte menu for those not interested in as much food. Regardless, this place should be at the top of restaurants to dine at in Panama City.More
