Delicious food in a great comfortable ambience, the best place to try new forms of Panamanian food. A must!

I recently visited Panama on a business trip and a friend suggested we should go to Maito. Excellent restaurant. We had Chipirrón, Carimañolas and Dumplings de Corvina for starters. Then we had the catch of the day, which was fresh and tasty. Everything had a perfect mixture of flavors and, somehow, felt special. Dessert deserves an special note. We had... More

Pleasant surroundings, very good food, good service. The 5 or 6 times I have visited here, never been disappointed. Awesome appetizers, great selection of main courses

The restaurant is off the beaten track. Decor and ambience is average. The food was nothing to rave about. Angus steak was really a flat iron. The lamb smelt and tasted like it cane from butchery floor. Dessert (chocolate one) was very average. All in all as a visitor to panama city you can do much better. Maybe the locals... More

Given a month to explore, I had my share of bad, subpar and good. This restaurant is by far the best restaurant in Panama. It's pretty darn hard to find as it is set back far in a dark street, please don't let this be a deterrent. Sancocho wow... The broth alone was deep, rich and full of flavor. The... More

Had dinner here as part of a company gathering and we all had great food and a nice evening. The starters were particularly good and can recommend to order a few different dishes to share. For main I had a beef and it was ok without being great, but solid enough. Waiters were attentive and relatively fast.

I am a very tough critic of food. I am from New York and have had the privilege to eat at some very nice restaurants, so it takes a lot to get my attention. My daughter took us out with her brother. I had eaten here 5 (?) years ago and it was good, but not spectacular. My daughter had... More

I had read about Owner and Executive Chef Mario Castrellón while looking into the famed geisha coffee bean, which can be found at another of his enterprises Café Unido. Having lived in Houston while it's food and beverage industry has grown rapidly I was intrigued by his interest at least with coffee, to show people in Panama an amazing product... More

Panama City is now full of wonderful restaurants and this in one of the top ones! The chef is a true chef. Plates are beautifully put together, taste is exquisite. And there is parking. It is located in San Francisco neighborhood, near another famous restaurant - Jimmy's

Knowing we are foodies, our real estate agent took us here for dinner. We are regular visitors to Panama City and this was our first time here at Maito. The food was outstanding. My dining companions started with the carpaccio while I had the ginger cerviche; the entrees were a mix of the honey salmon, the pork tamales, and the... More
