Excellent Italian Food.

Excellent Italian Food. Excellent Service We had the lobster special $35. A bit pricey. It was fantastic served in a light sauce with light breadcrumbs. A side of spaghetti with house made red sauce. Excellent as good as any sauce as I’ve had in Italy. Friends had a Margherita Pizza. With real cheese. Fresh Italian bread rolls. I had a glass of the house red wine $7. Chianti style. The best part was when looking for a ride back to our hotel the bartender ordered us a local private driver using a local app for $4. Traffic was horrible due to a movie being filmed nearby. One of our travelers has a cane. The bartender helped us so much. He kept looking at the app and walked us across the square to pick up the car. Thank you! Thank You!

A little lackluster and less than Italian - perhaps I expect too much and should lower expectations

We made reservations online and were seated outside next to the pool. The pool had fake lotus flowers of which many were upside down. We ordered calamari appetizer that came on a big plate with a small portion and no tentacles. It was cooked nicely and served on top of a small bed of baby arugula. After this and 3 slices of bread we received our main dishes. The plating of the risotto was void of any garnish but a healthy portion. Same of another pasta dish. The imported skirt steak I ordered was heavily salted for my preferences. The side vegetables were very nice. We also had a Cesar salad that I didn’t find very authentic. The dressing had no taste of anchovies or lemon and was overloaded with croutons. I’d say they need a refresher course from a true Italian chef as they might have started to lose some authenticity.

Don't overlook this great Italian Restaurant in Casco Viejo

Our second trip to Pastissima in the past few months and we are ready to back again. Great food and outstanding service. Suggest you try the calamari as a starter and then anything off the mains list. We've found asking for wine recommendations paid off - great wine at a good price.

service was so terrible I lost my appetite

Waiter was so rude, condescending, and annoyed that he had to do his job. Basic menu questions "what side does that come with" were met with eye rolls. I was asking for bread for the table and he walked away while I was in mid sentence! The place wasn't even crowded!!! You could sense he didn't even feel like taking our order. He did not want to be bothered...BUT he did have time to stand at the door with another waiter and ogle and say crude comments about the women walking by. By the time the food came (by the way he screwed up the order) I had enough and didn't even feel like eating.

Mediocre experience due to long food delay.

Low rating based on excessive wait time for food. Lunch for two, arrived and were only customers. A simple order of one pizza Margherita and on boscaiola pasta dish took about 45 minutes wait. Pizza was good, same as other nearby restaurants, pasta mediocre (too much sauce/cream so soupy.). It seemed like the larger party that was seated after us got all the attention while we just sat and waited. In 3 days in Casco Viejo, this is my only low rating. Don’t recommend.

Pizza Extraordinaire!

We had walked by this restaurant (on the corner of Plaza Herrera) numerous times on our visits to Casco Viejo. There is usually a friendly server outside inviting you to enter. It’s pretty little place-only 10 tables. So, we finally decided to give it a try. So glad that we did! We shared a pizza carbonara that was extraordinary-an excellent crust with Italian bacon, lots of creamy cheese, chopped onions with an egg on top. We will be back :)

Great Italian Food in Casco Viejo

Due to the large number of eating places in the area, we thought it best to have our minds made up before visiting for the day. Luckily, we chose this restaurant. The beef lasagna and the chicken parmesan were both wonderful. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for great Italian food in Panama City.

Disappointing and overpriced

Overpriced food, frozen burrata on pizza. Frozen cheese on appetizer. The place looks lovely and stylish but the food is just horrific. Overpriced with a pizza of 20 dollars plus expected 20% tip. The antipasto has fried sausage on it that have nothing to do with Italian food and the cold cuts are low quality for a supermarket. If you love real Italian food this is not the place to go.

Steaks were okay, but tough. They were out of pizza and much else on NYD. Service was average. It was as if they were not interested is serving people. A family of 6 came in about 40 mins before close and they then left after a short conversation. They clearly wanted to eat, as they crossed the street and ate elsewhere. Odd. Their pasta dishes looked tasty, alas we made the mistake of ordering steak in an Italian restaurant.

Cosy place with tasty dishes

Walked in on a whim as it looked very cosy and inviting. We were seated promptly at the last table for two. Service was attentive but unhurried giving us time to enjoy the surroundings. Hubby and I ordered a pasta and a pizza to share. Both were served hot and were tasty. The wine by the glass was also delicious. Portions are large. Waiter helped with a difficult Uber ride.

Great ambiance, excellent italian food.

Upscale small italian restaurant in an old building in historic Casco Viejo; serving true Italian food at its best. Quality of ingredients is top, prepararion is fantastic. Try the eggplant parmigiana! Best we have eaten. Seefood spaghetti was also a delight. This is a no brainer. Great evening.

Great Italian in Panama

Very good Italian food. They have a very large menu. I had salmon with a cream sauce and fettuccine noodles . It was piping hot and delicious! My partner had spaghetti Bolognese and he loved his as well. My only complaint is the wine pours were very small. The restaurant only has 8 tables and it has a very European ambience with beautiful stone walls.

Cannelonis were stuffed with overcooked spinach that was tasteless. When my husband tried to send it back after one bite and get something else, he was told that he would need to pay for that entrée and any other he would order.
