This place serves great classic American style food, burgers, chicken, fries and even spaghetti! The portions are huge at a very reasonable price. The servers are very pleasant and hard working. The restaurant is clean and spacious and the decor is fun! There is even an attached bakery which serves excellent breads and pastries. I highly recommend!!!

Great service, one waitress tried to help me in English (I speak Spanish but still a nice gesture). Another waiter came over as soon as I looked up from menu. I have been to a lot of other places where it's hard to get the attention of the servers. They accept Bitcoin, serve breakfast all day. Prices are reasonable. They have decent parking.

I visited with my nephews for breakfast and we would definitively return again. Not only the food is good, generous portions, and the waiters are very kind, but also this restaurant helps youth and provides them a first job experience.

This diner is a 60's style restaurant, so if you grew up in that era it's fun to see all the decor. The food is typical North American with burgers, chicken, fries, onion rings and other items you'd expect in a US diner. It's a venue for helping orphaned kids out of poverty and teaching them to work in a restaurant and also to speak English. Our waiter Alex, was delightful, helping us with our Spanish and practicing his English. The food isn't exactly health food, since there are many fried options, but it's a taste of home if you need that when you're visiting El Salvador from the US. An unusual thing in El Salvador: drink refills are free.

Great location, great food, great service. Real American taste, “champions’ breakfast style”. Waiters are nice, place clean and decorated as a 50s style dinner.

We served in El Salvador on a mission trip with Sus Hijos and ate here several times. Delicious each and every time! They even have sweet tea. Good for gringos. :)

As if there isn't enough of the US in San Salvador, this diner joins a chorus line of restaurants importing American comfort food concepts. The food is really good, though if you are traveling here, especially if you're American, stick to the local cuisine. The Orange Milkshake was particularly delicious!

I love that they are a Christian based Diner, with real friendly waiters.Great food with real american taste. Loved their hamburgers, but their Mac and Cheese is the best I've had in years. I recommend you visit this place.

Our group are here during a visit to El Salvador 3 years ago and loved it! We have been back during our annual trip to El Sal ever since. Even as Americans, we seldom enjoy such 1950s decor and nostalgia! From the fun decor (pink and mint green, juke box, etc) to the delicious food (milk shakes, fried pickles, and a good old fashioned cheeseburger with a side of sweet potato fries to name a few favorites), this place is a charming and delicious spot to dine! The service is also EXCELLENT! Our party was quite large and did the typical American alterations to just about every menu item (no mayo, hold the cheese, blah blah) and they managed to satisfy our every desire with smiles on their faces and a genuine desire to please the customers. I'll be back for sure!

Yesterday, my family and I, decided to visit States Diner after recommendations we got from friends.
We were warmly and happily received by the staff, who to our knowledge, could all speak English super well. The menu had a vast array of delicious American dishes that I have never seen in any other restaurant in El Salvador.
After having quite a difficult time choosing (because everything seemed so delicious) I decided for the Pulled Pork Sandwich with the Cole Slaw and Onion Rings as side. Food arrived after 10-15min of ordering (we were 4 in total at our table) and visually it was simply WOW!!!
As I took my first bite, I could taste the tenderness and juiciness of the pork and the softness of its bun! Cole Slaw made the perfect combination to this succulent boom of flavors.
As a huge onion ring fan, I must say that these were the most delicious I have ever had. Normally, the onion rings game is pretty low in the country because they might overdo them or simply not fry them enough.... Nevertheless, I found these onion rings to simply be on point!
Would I recommend States Diner? Definitely!
Specially because it is a restaurant with a mission helping kids in orphanages giving then the chance to excel and succeed in life; something which shows a great CSR and simply is a great helping hand in this society of ours!
Btw, do try the Fried Snickers Bars! They were simply the best!

I really love this place. The food is great, the service outstanding. The location feels like if you got into a time machine and went back to the 60s. I really didn't expect it what I saw when I walked through the door for the first time. Furthermore, the fact that this restaurant is a means of helping people the way they do, makes it even more special. Definite recommendation!!

If you like traditional American food, State's Diner is the place to be. Not only is the food great, but the staff is great too. State's Diner is a really special place. It was opened in order to help orphans who have aged out of the orphanage. State's Diner is a place for them to learn a trade and transition smoothly into adulthood.
