We were recommended this restaurant by the Holiday Inn nearby. Very smart surroundings with great menu and attentive and knowledgeable staff. Food arrived quickly and tasted really good, well recommended wine to go with it and all at very reasonable prices. Thanks to everyone.
This is my second time to the same restaurant. First visit was via a business contact but I liked the place so much that I decided to attempt a second visit. The food is excellent, the interior is up market and the service cannot be...faulted.More
Thank you for your feedback. We are looking forward to your next visit!
This is a great atmospheric restaurant for caucasian cuisine and especially lamb. It is possible the best in Kiev for the food from lamb. The lamb shoulder was excellent and complemented perfectly by Babaganush (baked eggplants snack). The service is very decent, the sommelier and...the waiter helped make a good choice and we hope to visit this place again.More
Thank you for your wonderful feedback. We are definitely looking forward to visiting again.
I went to this restaurant because it is located in the calm and beautiful square. I came to the hostess and I told her that I will be alone. She placed me at the table. Then I had to wait 15 min to get a...menu card. At least 2 waiters passed by me with total ignorance until I reminded of my existence. Finally, I made an order: plov ( rice with lamb) in the dough with a glass of Georgian wine. The dish was served in 40 min. Can you imagine? In 40 min! Half warm. It was really delicious and an excellent combination with Georgian wine. But it was not warm enough to be perfect. Other strange thing that I didn't like is a luck of light on the terrace. They have covered and non covered terrace. When it is getting dark and you are on the non covered terrace, you barely see what is on your plate. I assume you can find other Georgian restaurants with more attentive waiters.More
I was warned about this place before going there with the same Brit that warned me. I already told others to go there so I had to follow through even after a warning that I didn’t heed. This place is incredibly over-rated and over-priced for...what it offers. The food is subpar, definitely not great Georgian food for sure and the service is one of the worst that I have ever experienced in Ukraine yet which is hard to do since service in this country is the worst in the world that I have ever experienced …and I’ve lived here for a year! Firstly the old man coat check guy was demanding my coat before I was finished taking off all of my winter gear. We almost got into a heated argument over it, the old fart can wait until I’m ready atleast. We had to ask for our waiter repeatedly for attention that didn’t seem to care to come by our table. We asked repeatedly again for the sommelier which never showed up until after we finished our meal. Why do we want the wine bottle after our meal? They lost out on that sale. Waiting forever just to get a check was another added delay so no tip deserved at all. And there seems to be a local drunken old man that comes by multiple tables and sits down with customers to bother them. The staff tries to coerce him to get up and leave patron’s tables but don’t throw him out of the place. He must be the owner’s brother or part-owner or something. How could a restaurant keep a nuisance around to annoy its customers? I was told this type of interruption is common at this restaurant and this has been covered in other previous reviews. I told the waiters on the way out the door why they didn’t deserve nor receive any type from us because their waiters are rude, dumb and slow, our total experience had been that demoralizing. I will never go to this restaurant ever again, nor recommend it to anyone. The “only” nice thing about it is the outside terrace patio on a summer’s day for maybe a drink and not any food. But coming here to this sad place will surely screw you over in the end and you will wonder what for?More
I reviewed this restaurant a few months ago and I have been staying in Ukraine now for a few months and have had the opportunity to eat many times, I did rate this a 5 on my first review but I have to say things...just have gotten disappointing, that last 2 visits the food was just not good I had the meat and rice and to my shock it came to me and my wife cold the service is just getting worse I don’t understand what has happen to this restaurant was truly my favorite but not now and I will not be back for while, I will give them another chance maybe not sure, it seems to me the employees don’t even care anymore such a big problem I hope the get everything resolved soon.More

Our Accomodation was on the same road and having just landed at the airport and unpacked we stumbled into this elegant place. Clueless and tired we let pur waiter lead the way. Border was Georgian so swayed us toward the specialities of his home land....There was cheese, lamb and lots of bread and it was all washed down with a wine from the country too. It all just clicked. We were not in our best clothes but treated like Royalty. This was just the welcome to the Ukraine we needed. Thank you Nordar for looking after us so well. Charlotte & TonyMore

I really love this restaurant and consider myself and my wife regulars as we visit many time when We are in Ukraine, but tonight was not normal, we had waitress who just disappeared from us, we bought bottle of wine to only have this wine...placed at another table and since our waitress was nowhere’s to be found we had to ask someone else to get our wine more then twice, the last time I had to get up myself to get wine but waiter came and poured for us, this waitress was very poor in her duties, we have had great service before, we will go back but we hope we will not be serviced by this poor waitress again, the food meat was a little tough but flavor was good, we will go back as this is the only time we have experience this issues but this was a special night for us being married for one year so the night was not perfect but I hope when we go back it will be.More

It is one of those places you want to come back. I loved everything about it: starting from charming old gentleman who takes care about your coat, fantastic interior with glass walls and flicking candles, live entertainment, service-minded and attentive waiters and of course delicious...Georgian food (and wine:) ). Moreover, it was the 14-th anniversary of the restaurant the time we visited the place. So we had some special treats on the house. Also we were pleased the chef came to our table to ask if everything was alright. Definitely, highly recommended!More

Our dining experience at Kuvshin (Кувшин) was outstanding! The restaurant is nestled in a lovely park filled with trees and blooming plants. Most of the glass walls were open to allow diners to eat outdoors. Our server “Zarina” was amazing! She followed a challenging conversation...in both English and Ukrainian, made some excellent suggestions for appetizers, and delivered all of our meals in good order - with a smile! The Georgian cuisine was delicious! The appetizers made of cheese and herbs with lavash, the variety platter of shashlik grilled to perfection, the rice baked en croute, and the moist honey cake were to die for! We will never forget our wonderful evening! We will return to Kuvshin next time we visit Kiev.More
