The beautiful historic street invited us to visit this intriguing underground restaurant. The cosy and elegant atmosphere was typically Ukrainian. The menu provided a good sample of delicious traditional dishes. All our requests were met and anticipated and we were hosted in the national language....The service was excellent, especially our waitress Anya, and the musical gentlemen who delightfully personalised the song choices and performed at the table. A very unique event for the first time visitors to Ukraine.More

We randomly found this place while wondering the streets of the old town, and we're so glad we did! From the moment we walked in, we felt such a good vibe all around. The owner greeted us with open arms, and so did her really...cute pomeranian dog! Our server Veronika then took over, and really made us feel right at home! The atmosphere there is very chill, with a unique decor, and some French influence. The place even has live music at night, which we wished we had the chance to experience. The food was very authentic of Ukraine, and with a great variety. We opted to try various dishes, starting with the pike fish which had a unique taste, with some jelly wrapped around it and beets on the side. We also tried the lard, which was basically raw bacon, and it was decent. But for us, the highlight had to be the rabbit stew which was absolutely delicious and so tender! We also like the pork and beef dumplings with mushroom sauce. Overall, this was definitely one of our favorite meals on our trip to Kiev. The atmosphere, the decor, and the food were all great! But the reason I'm giving this place 5 stars, was the outstanding customer service we received from everyone there. Special mention to Larissa who is such a funny character, and a sweetheart! Oh, and the homemade flavored vodkas were amazing!!!More

Friendly staff, and the food was delicious. Staff really like to display their traditional cuisine. We were served by Kristina, who was very enthusiastic and recommended some lovely dishes. Excellent value for money, and very comfortable with a quirky feel.

Wonderfull setting, food, drinks, music and staff. We loved it. The wine I chose was €2.8, in Kanapa you pay 9.5 for the same wine. Good price-quality value!

A taxi driver recommended me to try Za dvoma zaytsyamy (translates from Ukrainian as "after two hares", there is an old movie) + Attentive service + A pleasant unexpected tour of the restaurant + Atmosphere to reflect the beginning of last century, bar (delicious wine...and a special tea which was specifically made to accommodate my taste) I tried a fish soup as my first course - two out of three fish pieces were delicious, the third one(salmon) was completely overcooked. - the taste of a boulion was simply salty, oversalted, I just had to leave it. - it is actually quite expensive to have a 10 euro soup in Ukraine (it is normally 1 euro in a cheaper restaurants and 2-6 euros on average) and it should be done properly if you are setting higher expectations I have also tried potato pancakes with mushroom sause and creamed prunes stuffed with walnuts. Both are typical Ukrainian dishes and were goodMore
