The staff is great and introduced me to 3 whiskeys and a gin. It is the first gin I have ever liked! Of course the American Rib Eve was cooked to perfection too!

Night three I decided to kick it up a notch and go fancy, meaning a four dollar sign restaurant, which still was not too expensive so long as you did not order an expensive whisky. I am glad the others let me select the restaurants....The menu describes who in the monarchy loved which dish. They even featured some of Sir Winston Churchill's favorites. They even served haggis, which I tried. It was done in an entirely different manner with sweet potatoes on top, then the haggis, served over mashed potatoes. I went with the Scottish mutton pie while one friend had the Shepherd's pork pie, another had the traditional British pie, and a third tried the pie with deer heart. I also had caviar for the first time in some 30 plus years, which was served with a piece of pineapple. This was complimentary of the house. Like I said, everything was done proper!More

Chanced upon Whisky Corner as my twin brother Stephen and I were wandering around this part of town and what a great find. Walking in and I knew I would enjoy my visit here,a superb looking interior with great decor and furnishings including a cool...looking serving bar and plenty of seating options spread throughout restaurant and bar. We were here on a Monday night, greeted warmly by a very pleasant member of staff,my brother and I had a study of the whisky list and both got a 7 year old single malt whisky each, these were superb ,my brother is not such a big whisky fan but even he enjoyed it but he did drink it very slowly indeed. We really enjoyed our drinks in here, cant comment on the meals as we were here only for drinks but the food looked really good. I ended up having one more whisky before moving on and we both had a great time in here . Whisky Corner is easy to locate along Sofiyivska Street. Opening hours are; Monday to Sunday, Midday till Midnight. A great restaurant and bar, well worth checking out if your in the area.More

Stopped here after reading some of the tripadvisor comments and stumbling upon it just walking by. Did not disappoint at all. Fantastic and super friendly service, the hostess and the bartender (I apologize for not remembering their names) were really good. Elegant and classic ambiance,...plenty of liquor options, particularly whisky. It's a must visit for whisky enthusiasts (and not so much). Will definitely come again on my next trip to Kiev!More

First of all, to be honest, the food, service and athmosfare were ok. But the way they charge the bill is a shame, how?; - ordering coffee, they ask with or without milk. If you say "with milk" they charge the price of the milk...as extra. - If you order mix salad the price is made of each items put into the salad such as; tomatos, greenery, avokado, etc... So you can imagine the price of a dish of salad. - Due to the minimum order weight of the meat generally 400 gr, in some how you are canalised unexpectedly to eat 1.5-2 kg of meat. And guess the price? - In the dish of the meat if they ask "do you want grilled vegetables or french fries, or etc. they don't say that it is charged extra. - And Tip for service amount of 10% is automaticly added to the bill, after all you have to pay the tip for service even you don't like it. We were lucky that the tooth-pick was FREE.More

I took my son here as I had been told the steaks were very good. Being from the UK, the prices in this restaurant seem very reasonable, although, by local standards I am sure it is considered fairly expensive. This is a high quality operation,...very professional, from the moment you enter. Our coats were checked in at the cloak room and we were shown to our table by a very well presented and welcoming waiter. We had some questions about the various different types and cuts of steak on the menu, so the waiter offered to show us each cut of meat so we could visualise it. This was very interesting and educational for my son and we discussed which cuts we would try. We opted for 300g Ribeye, and 300g Cowboy - both medium rare. With fries and a couple of sauces on the side. We wanted to share so the waiter brought out a platter with the 2 steaks and offered to carve then into slices for us - which we agreed to, and this worked really well. I have travelled to many countries and eaten in some of the best places around the world, and our steaks here, were up there among the best I have had anywhere. Just cooked perfectly in every way - a slight charcoal flavour to add to the taste, yet perfectly medium rare. Rich in colour and bursting with juicy flavour. In fact it was so good that we returned the next night and had another ribeye and a New York Strip. Once again absolutely perfect and utterly delicious. Prices are shown on the menu, per 100g, with a minimum serving size of 250g, so you can ask for anything from the equivalent of around 8oz upwards. I think our meals worked out at around £20 GBP each - astonishing value for money. I pay that in my local pub in the UK for nowhere near the quality of this. I can highly recommend this place - it is a MUST MUST MUST visit if you like a steak. I am sure the other things on the menu are fantastic but we did not try them yet. Thank you for making us so welcome and giving us a very memorable experience in every way.More

They serve english food (serveral meat pies) which is really good. Unfortunately the main dish has a size of an appetizer and the first course is almost like a greeting from the kitchen. Our bill was 834 UAH for two "main dishes" (no meat), a...beer and a glass of wine.More
