Yes, Spotykach really be proud! With such care together under one cover the most famous culinary hits of the Soviet era have not for everyone. Here is what restaurant critics over the years will be called "Ukrainian cuisine of the Soviet period," and the mere process of reading the menu is wild appetite. Salad leaves traditional herring under a fur coat, Olivier, Mimosa Capital, salad with beans and a dozen names. Then begins an even more pleasant discoveries. Take, for example, herring with anchovies on potatoes with onions or perch with mushrooms, fried pancakes. Sated fangled delights metropolitan restaurants audience inevitably return to the simple joys that are certain to become trump card

We were recommended to visit the Spotykach as it was supposed to serve good and tasty Ukrainian food. Unfortunately we were very disappointed. Overall the food was bland and the Chicken Kyiv dry. The local draft beer was good and the service sweet and attentive....However we are unlikely to return to the Spotykach until they up the standard of their food.More

The final restaurant of this business trip was chosen based on a recommendation from someone at the US Embassy. This person did not let me down even though I ate one of the most tasteless and disgusting things ever. This place has a rather extensive...menu serving everything from fish, meats, snails, green borscht, tube foods, and games to eat and drink. Everything I tasted...well, almost everything... was exceptional. Clearly, there is something here for everyone, especially Jack Spratt's wife. Enjoy the colorful photos.More

This is a nice restaurant that provides good food served by hospitable people. It came recommended by our guide but I felt that it was more geared for Business people/Tourists rather than serve up a more genuine Ukrainian experience. Nothing to find fault with this...place but there were other more authentic restaurants in the city that I felt were better.More

A real gem of a restaurant. A warm welcome from all staff, an eclectic decor and an extensive menu all helped to make a positive first impression. Victor was our waiter and he was extremely helpful and efficient. The choice of drinks was great especially...as they distilled their own flavored vodkas. The food selection was wide and catered for vegetarian as well as meat eaters. The cost of both food and drink was extremely reasonable. I would highly recommend this restaurant.More

Stopped there for lunch to try some local food. They serve some classical Ukrainian dishes. Staff was attentive, responsive and pilot. The place has a nice deco to it. Prices were equally reasonable for me as a tourist. Extensive menu with lots of choices to...suit All tastes. Would happily go backMore

The food is simply amazing in there, you can get ukrainian dumplings in all shapes and sizes and colours, good borshch, pickles and good meats, but the food that I would always go back there is salo (pig fat). The quality of it is simply...amazing, it melts in your mouth. Few shots of local vodka help too:) Very nice restaurant, with many locals coming for food, and many tourists. Service is prompt and attentive. The restarurant is nearby St Sophia squere, so drop by for food after the sightseeing.More

The description of the place on the Internet is understating facts. The place offers traditional as well as exciting menus and very different variations of local Ukrainian food. Service is excellent, but I don’t like the American style mentioning that there is no tip included...(which I doubt) and how much 10 respectively 15% of the bill makes out. This said, prices are reasonable for a place where food, environment and service is next to excellent. If you only have one evening for a dinner, that’s where you go.More

Extremely aggressive, arrogant and pushy staff. Wine was served in freshly rinsed hot glasses and therefor too warm. Food was pretty good, though.

We ate here twice - the first time for lunch was excellent - I had three cruciate carp fried - really tasty. the second visit was for an evening meal, and the quality was poorer - my wife's fish and chips had bones in the...cod, and soggy batter, and my veal was quite boring. Do try though - the staff were excellentMore
