Great place! We came back here after 1.5 years with our US friend because she loved it then and wanted to visit this place again during her stay in Kiev. I like everything here, starting with warm welcome, unusual menu and cozy sofas. They serve typical Ukrainian cusine, but add some extraordinary ideas that make it quite unusual. The quality... I am originally from Ukraine and I have always prepared native dishes but this place absolutely blew my mind. They put such an interesting spin on all the food and cook it to such perfection that it really was the best food I have ever had. The drinks are also unusual and delicious. They have two areas; one is a... More

Modern, inventive, and playful - bordering on the tasteful kitsch (oxymoron intended), Spotykash is a very tongue-in-cheek play on Ukrainian/Soviet history. The food is elegantly prepared, incredibly flavorful, braiding traditional offerings with a modern (bordering on the molecular) twist. Take for instance the "Borscht popsicle" (photo attached). For many, the notion of borscht alone invokes childhood memories of being forced... More

We were very pleasantly surprised. The menu was great choice and with nice surprises mixing tradition, contemporary thinking and humor. Great taste, great service. And Very chip considering uah exchange rate. The restaurant's interior is very interesting too - as a summary of Ukraine history/ spirit/famous people. Location is very central and close to traditional places of interest. Thus very... More

We visited this restaurant after reading trip advisor reviews and we had a fantastic time. The restaurant is very personal, on entry your coats are taken and stored in a cloakroom and then given a shot of their homemade vodka. We were seated in 1 of 8 curtained private booths which added the luxury touch. The table was immaculately laid... More

The food was great. The beef Stroganoff was amazing. Service was good. I recommend for a taste of Ukrainian cuisine. Downside is that it's not a cheap place according to local standards, but I actually felt it worth it.

I went there on my short trip to Kiev. This restaurant is in historic old town of Kiev and offers you wonderful and tasty dishes of traditional ukrainian( better say Kiev') cuisine. The service is nice and helpful and prices are super low compared to western european capitals. I highly recommend to visit this restaurant to experience the real feeling... More

I am a super picky and some might even say a snobby eater. That said, I think Spotykach is the BEST representation of not only the Ukrainian but of Soviet culinary treasures!!! I am OBSESSED with this place and would highly recommend coming here for any meal (lunch or dinner). The atmosphere is super trendy and the food is out... More

Spotykach is one of the restaurants I discovered on my very first trip to Kiev. The borscht here is still one of the best in my view.
