We are in Kiev a week and keep returning to this cozy unassuming restaurant that has food that is out of this world. There is a good assortment of traditional Ukrainian food that is well presented and served and is the best tasting of all restaurants that we have visited in Kiev. You simply have to taste to believe!!

It may seem a little odd to be going downstairs to the restaurant, but be brave, try it!! the room is comfortable and welcoming and the cuisine is excellent traditional Ukrainian cuisine. Service is excellent and the prices are reasonable.

I am glad I took TripAdvisor's advice on this place, we made a slight detour to get here and weren't disappointed. The place offers traditional Ukrainian dishes in surprising and modern form, they taste great and look fabulous. Definitely worth trying!

Myself and my colleague had heard mixed reviews about this place but were very impressed when we decided to give it a try. We ate outside given the warm weather so we didn't get to see the interior. The menu is quite big containing lots of local specialities, many of which have their own twist. Both of us were very... More

Great food, great prices. We tried a variety of dishes, enjoyed them all a lot. Desserts, however, is not a forte there - but from our experience, it's not a forte in Kiev at all!

Spotykach is located centrally near St Michael's and St Sophia. It is retro-themed, with various rooms inside and an outdoor patio. The menu is Kyiv-style, and has all the Kyiv and Ukraine menu options - both traditional and with a modern twist. While I was initially afraid this restaurant was going to be a tourist-trap or at least filled with... More

We don't about the interior of the restaurant, as we were seated outside, a treat considering the weather. As always the prices were excellent, we had no problem affording several appetizers/main dishes, which might be needed as the portions are quite small. We found this to be a good thing, as it allowed us to sample a variety of their... More

Description
Yes, Spotykach really be proud! With such care together under one cover the most famous culinary hits of the Soviet era have not for everyone. Here is what restaurant critics over the years will be called "Ukrainian cuisine of the Soviet period," and the mere process of reading the menu is wild appetite. Salad leaves traditional herring under a fur coat, Olivier, Mimosa Capital, salad with beans and a dozen names. Then begins an even more pleasant discoveries. Take, for example, herring with anchovies on potatoes with onions or perch with mushrooms, fried pancakes. Sated fangled delights metropolitan restaurants audience inevitably return to the simple joys that are certain to become trump card Spotykach.
