Came here to watch a Premier League game and the place was very quiet. We went to sit at a table and were immediately informed that it was reserved, as were all the other empty tables. We sat at the bar and were served by a bar man who failed to smile once. We had intended to eat but decided otherwise as the staff seemed so indifferent. We left after the game during which time no one came to sit at the empty tables. At least the football on TV was good.

Beer Food and Sports

WE went to O Brien's to watch the 6 nations rugby and to enjoy the atmosphere of an Irish bar in Ukraine,and were not disappointed .Very good selection of beers and the girls serving us did so promptly and with a smile.We did not stay for food but looking at the menu and the quality of the food being served i would have no problem eating here.

Empty Irish Bar - Sunday probably not the best night to visit

Our fault really. Stumbled across this pub when parched and in need of a pint. Sadly, Sunday evening probably didn't give us the best night to visit but the staff were very friendly and the beer and wine were well appreciated. Thanks

Great Irish pub ,superb staff.

This was my first trip to Ukraine and I was eagerly looking forward to visiting the amazing sites this city has to offer,learn about the history of this proud nation and sample the great nightlife I had read up about Kuev back in my home to Liverpool before starting my holiday here and O'Brien's Irish Pub was one great pub we found on our first day in this most eclectic of city's. Walking in and I knew I would enjoy my visit here, set over two floors,dark wood tables and chairs, tv's and big screens to enjoy the sport, all the Irish bric a brac adorning the walls you would expect to find in a good Irish pub, there's cool features aplenty throughout this pub,my favourite was the vintage motorcycle hanging over the staircase that brought you up to the top floor of this pub ,this is were we chose to sit . A very pleasant member of staff greeted us warmly, my twin brother Stephen and I got a guinness each ,these were poured in the correct manner even allowing time for the all important settle and were served in tip top condition, we just kicked back ,chilled out and took in the great pub we were in while sipping our guinness. My guinness was really good,a thick,creamy dark stout ,bursting with taste and most importantly served iced cold, a proper good guinness served by staff who know how to serve a good pint of the black stuff. As it was freezing cold outside and my brother and I were cosy and warm in this pub we decided to stay for another drink ,this time we chose a lager style beer, a local brew that was served in excellent condition being iced cold and sparkling, a really good light beer that was just as enjoyable as the guinness so top marks to the bar staff for serving such great drinks. We really enjoyed our guinness and beers in here before we moved on and for a first time visit we were totally impressed with this great Irish pub. O'Brien's Irish Pub is easy to locate along Mykhajilivska Vul. Opening hours are; Monday to Sunday, 11am till 2am. A wonderful Irish pub,great staff,great drinks,a pub I highly recommend you visit if your in the area.

Sick for 2 days

Avoid this place, unless you want to risk your health. One of our party was vomiting for 2 days after having cocktails & salmon salad. Salmon was tasteless like it was left soaking in water. Alcohol served here seemed like it was cheaper poor quality spirits that made her very very sick.

Great Irish Bar.

Great Irish Bar. Went here to watch the Six Nations Rugby (Wales v France) while in Kiev for our daughters birthday. Staff were fantastic. Local Beer was quite cheep. Never eat there but the food looked good. Definitely worth a visit.

It is large and looks the part in side. A typical city centre Irish themed pub Service was OK. Food was not so good and poor value.

Nice Irish bar

This is a good Irish bar with decent service. We had some nice food here. Was good to watch sport on the many TVs.

Too Loud Too Early

If you want to chat over a pint of Guinness (and to be fair the Guinness wasn’t bad and reasonably priced) this is not the place but if deafeningly loud live bands playing bad cover versions of James Brown one end of the bar and braying football fans watching the match the other is your thing, you’re in luck. Two stars given because the staff are attentive.

Wandering around looking for a place to relax

Nice place in the tourist area. Relaxed atmosphere, nice staff and good food. We had drinks and lunch at a reasonable price and our waitress was great.

A single round at O’Brien’s

Enjoyed just one round here at O’Brien’s. Sampled the 1715 Lvivske draught beer. The staff don’t speak the best English in the world, but are able to guide you through local drinks to buy. Quite a small bar yet there areplenty better to be visited Kiev as opposed to just this classic Irish tavern. Nothing special to shout about.

Found this pub off chance!!! When I asked the waitress (a girl with long brown hair) if there was music the look she gave me!!! She was very rude!!! Irish bar me hole we as Irish are friendly especially as me and my partner where the only two the in bar never felt so uncomfortable in an Irish bar ever!!

Good for watching sports. But expensive and poor food

A good place to go and watch sport but the price of food and drink is insane for Kiev prices. We ordered fish and chips and the cheeseburger one lunchtime. Both very average and way over priced. Beer prices were at least 2-3 times more expensive than comparable places elsewhere in Kiev. If you’re desperate to watch sport then it’ll do but outside of that wouldn’t go back. Staff are all Ukrainian and speak decent English but not very friendly considering it’s an Irish bar.

O’Brien’s is a cool place to hang out. Lots of drink and food options with sports on tv. Can get very crowded when big games are on and for some reason they only open the extra downstairs seating in the evening. Good craic though
