Good atmosphere. The service is excellent. Food is ok. A bit more expensive for this type of restaurant.

For foreigners this place is a great opportunity to experience Belgrade life as traditionally experienced by locals for decades. It is not polished for tourists, but very authentic and real. (Dear U.S. Citizens) manage your expectations accordingly, to avoid disappointment. With the right mind (and Google translate), it is very much worth going. You will be served a selection of... If You are lookibg for good kafana expiriance, you are on right spot. Kalenic has long tradition and is one of the milestones of Vracar area. However, food is not so briliant, i would say avatage at its best..prices are same or a bit higher than in other restaurants of this type..

... that still serves traditional Serbian food - skembici, crevca, etc. Ok, most of us settled for grill, but traditional cooked Serbian meals are available and according to few senior members of the party enjoyed those. On the down side, it is on busy street and ouside seating may be in the noisy/exhaust zone. Service is excellent, efficient and very... More

My friends and I had just arrived in Beograd after what can only be described as an eight hour train odyssey. To say that we were hungry would be litotical: we were ravenous. A meal of truly monstrous proportions would be needed to fill our bellies, and we were expecting that only junk food would be within the confines of... More

We have had a really mixed experience with this place. On good days, you get friendly waiters and good Serbian home cooking. Basically, good kafana food. On bad days, the waiters are inattentive and the food is served cold. You probably can't eat here less you've got a Serbian speaker in your party. You do not want to go into... More

One of the old Belgrade restaurants, popular with locals and still serving honest, traditional food. In Serbian called " kafana " , where, after siting there a couple of times to eat or to drink, you already have " your waiter ", who you already call " neighbor " ( " komsija " in Serbian) , which means that you...
