Came upon this place randomly. Very large menu, good food in terms of taste, portions, and presentation, and a good location for pre- or post-dining shopping, walking, and people watching. Area near the front door/bar is cramped so try to sit in the larger part of the restaurant. The smoking is a downer and service personnel were unfriendly. Still would consider going back given the food options, food quality, and location. This place could be very appealing when outdoor seating is an option.

My group and I wanted to experience a traditional Serbian meal during our time in Belgrade, and this place came recommend by a local friend. Overall, we enjoyed a delicious meal and had a very kind server who made us feel like we were eating in the home of family! Two members of our party were vegetarian, and while we were hesitant about the amount of options we'd have, as soon as our server noticed we were not ordering meat, he volunteered other items on the menu that we could eat and made some great recommendations (we had the vegetable soup, oyster mushrooms, Serbian salad, and veggie moussaka, all great!!). The food was delicious and a great value. We were not rushed, and the service was excellent.
We came on a weeknight and it wasn't too busy, but a nice mix of locals and out of towners. We had noticed during our time in Belgrade that other restaurants (trying to take advantage of tourists) would bring you food you didn't order or state that service wasn't included in the final bill in an effort to get you to tip/pay more. None of that here - everyone was really nice and no suprises! I'd definitely recommend this stop to those looking for a great local meal with no frills - just good food and a great ambience!

The menu was huge and most of the items on it they didn’t have anymore. We tried ordering something and the waiter excused every time by saying “I’m sorry we don’t have that”, which is a bit odd. Eventually we found cevapcici and bela vesalica which tasted good. Service was ok too and so are the prices.

The restaurant is a typical Serbian kafana, typical dishes in abundance. I know it bothers me a few yards to see a guy alone like me come in because it means occupying a table for a single person who will perhaps spend little. But what can I do?
The service was very quick, honestly I don't even know how much care was given to my dishes that seemed a bit 'dumb. They do not even serve a piece of bread (while in other kafanas they do). And at the request of an apple pie, they brought me a dry and cold strudel and I felt that it was better to leave because they had to seat 4 other people. Surely you spend little, maybe they should make a small non-smoking area being still a place for tourists

Restaurant with nice outdoor seating and tempting menu. The food that was served was sloppily prepared and i.a. there were raw parts of the pork. The portions were also relatively small. The visit ended with the waiter very clearly pointing out that tip and service charge were not included in the bill but that we had to add it ourselves. Avoid this place, there are so many better restaurants in this city.

This used to be me favorite spot for decades when visiting Belgrade, but it has notably declined in quality. The location is of course still great, but the food and service are sorely lacking. On the last visit they “got confused” and served us very expensive (yet mediocre) dishes we didn’t order, then made a drama when we asked to change them, even claiming none of our alternative choices were available. Further, even some of the basic staples (Uštipci) were not up to the standard, overcooked and dry. Then the waitress acted all surprised and even offended when we didn’t leave the tip. Very crass. There are dozens of better places in the city.

The food was Ok but the service was horrible. The waitress tool 20 minutes to take our order and the food took almost an hour. The whole time the waitress was ignoring our requests (like when we requested another glass) and was somewhat hostile. It even took 20 minutes to GET the bill. Prices were OK.

Perfect location, excellent service and fair prices. The food, however, was nothing special, it was too greasy and a bit bland in taste. The worst thing was the smoking, everyone around us smoked while we were eating, it really ruins your apetite.

My friend and I shared stuffed white zucchini and roast pork, and grilled red peppers. Whilst the zucchini were somewhat bland the combination with the roast pork was very good. The wine was excellent (Kovacevic white wine ) - not cheap by local standards but quite reasonable.

Terrible service. We sat for lunch and when the waitress came to take my order and I ordered something that they didn’t have available, she just left without letting me order something else.
When I complained she was very rude and started arguing with me.
Some popular traditional places in Belgrade are like this - if you are not a regular, they are terribly rude and unprofessional.
I will never sit here again and advise everyone not to since they will just be disappointed and get a bad picture of Belgrade (and stay hungry).

Horrible food and service. The food was not well cooked, not fresh and did not look nice. Our fish was not fresh at all, the fries were the worst we ever had. In addition to that the waitress was rude and not helpful. Try to avoid this place.

One of the best restoraunts I've ever dined in. The portions are big and prices are cheap, the waitor was very friendly. I would recommend "Karađorđeva šnicla" for meat eaters and "Pohovane bukovače" for vegetarians, to top it all was some sort of mixed salad with cream cheese and the best onions I've ever tasted.

Located in the heart of the downtown pedestrian zone, Prolece is a great place to try a range of national and regional specialties. A daily specials list offers fresh seasonal fare. Service was terrific and extremely helpful.

Friendly waiter and nice setting but the food was dreadful. I ordered chicken medallions which came with potato wedges and rice. It was barely warm and tasted as though it had come straight out of the freezer.

Nice restaurant in the heart of the old city.... the food was delicious. The portions were good. The bread was amazing. I like it that each table has alcohol to decontaminate your hands... they have outdoors seating and indoors ... the toilets were clean.
The service was nice and polite but not that friendly.
Prices are good , highly recommend it to visit
