This restaurant has fallen off significantly since we last came 6 years ago. We had cocktails, meat and cheese plate, and water and the total was over 8000 RSD. The meat and cheese plate was atrocious and we have been ordering local meats and cheeses...with nearly every meal in Belgrade. Do not order it. To cap it off the restaurant was incredibly hot. It was a 90 degree day in Belgrade and they didn’t have a single fan on when we arrived. We decided not to eat dinner there because it was simply too uncomfortable. Would recommend trying another restaurant until they can get their act together. Would give one star if the waiter wasn’t a pleasant gentleman.More

Lovely private setting in the heart of Belgrade. A storied restaurant and a fixture for decades, it has a new lease on life that doesn’t disappoint. The food is outstanding. A table in the garden is a lovely experience and the service amazing. Hands down,...the best chocolate mousse I’ve ever had (and that’s a high bar)!More

I can’t comment on the price , but the food was very good and typical. I loved the place as well which is right in the middle of old Belgrade.

Great location and ambiance; very good food. Service - poor and non professional- waited for drinks and food long time. The waiter needed to check with me if I can pay my wine order - I guess I did not look representative enough to him....Would not go again.More

We had a great experience at the Writer's Club in Belgrade and selected the set 5 course dinner with wine pairings. The food was delicious with many new discoveries. The waiter was phenomenal and friendly, and the sommelier who described each pairing was so enthusiastic...and fun to speak with. This restaurant has a great dining area and also a great history to be part of. Wonderful evening with terrific service.More

Nice food. Overpriced wine. The place almost empty, put be prepared to wait. To wait… One slivovica, two glasses of wine, soup, stuffed peppers, steak tartar, a desert and a coffee for one person - 80 euros.

This is traditional restaurant filled with history stories and nowdays offers old recipies with the modern twist. The food was delicious, service friendly and welcoming. I had celeriac and hazelnut soup, viennoise of red peppers stuffed with white cheese and kaymak, rocket, for salad cherry...tomato, pine nuts, parmesan cheese and C tarte for desert. Everything was very delicious and well served. I would recommend this place for special occasions and as a part of education about Belgrade cultural scene.More

My brother and I had dinner at the Klub. The service was excellent; Ivan our waiter was very personable and attentive. The food, mainly traditional Serbian fare, was great! We ordered the river turbot special, which was cooked to perfection. The ambiance was tranquil as...we enjoyed a jazz band and diva while we sipped Vodka martinis and ate our dinner. It was a great dining experience. The strong U.S. dollar made the dinner very reasonable.More

I have frequented this place rich with history quite often since it was relaunched several years ago. It used to be the hottest spot in Belgrade decades ago during the socialist Yugoslavia under the legendary master Ivo. Actors, artists, politicians, who is who of Belgrade...used to pack the place. Now it is a very pleasant upscale restaurant offering very solid cuisine (not haute, but certainly innovative by Belgrade standards) with nice twists on the local Balkan food. Ingredients like the lamb, veggies, etc. are very well sourced, fresh and tasty. I love the pleasantly hushed atmosphere under the expansive glass dome, where even in winter one feels like sitting outside. My only disappointment came very recently when the service was quite neglectful. Although the place was not full, it took the waiter 15min to arrive, and then there was struggle to summon him again when needed (among other things to remind him of bringing something that we had already asked for).More

The restaurant has great location and history. Food is excellent. I did not like waiter's attitude. Too familial. When I paid, he was asking me: oh, there's no tip? I would have left the tip, bit hate being blackmailed into it...

After two delightful work lunch experiences in this restaurant, I decided to take my husband our for dinner there on Saturday evening. Booking the place over email was super easy; I told them I wanted a seat with good light and ventilation; and I was...delighted to find out that they actually had reserved two different spots for me, so I could choose to be either at the edge of the garden or at the center. Of course we choose the center. On a summer evening, with all the doors of the glass dome open, the place was magical and felt as if it was smoke free! Bliss! Sergei, our waiter for the evening was sweet, well-informed, attentive, and was making the right recommendations with wine and food. The usher was kind enough to call us a taxi, and every staff we met was very pleasant and in great spirits. You can't go wrong with any of their food items. Try their lamb pie for starters and krempita for dessert. Everything in between is just as good!More

Please do not go to the Klub Knjizevika. The food is desperately bad (and very overpriced), the service slow and unresponsive, the live music lacking any cultural relevance to Belgrade/Serbia, and the entire place so noisy that you and your guests will struggle to have...any kind of reasonable conversation. This is written from the perspective of having visited and eaten at the Klub for several decades, and with a clear memory of when it was good. It is now a parody of itself, despite a great location and potentially lovely ambience - although when we there, the garden room was like a furnace, with no attempt made to ventilate the space. The dishes we ordered were all exceptionally dry and lacking flavour, with the entrees unimaginative and likely to be significantly bettered by any Belgrade café serving local cuisine. Pork neck and duck breast are naturally flavoursome and juicy – but not at the Klub Knjizevika; we mentioned all this to the waiter, who seemed indifferent to our concerns, and certainly unprepared to escalate the situation to the maître d’ or chef. Drinks were similarly tragic; poor imported beers in bottles so tiny they could have been from airline catering, rakija lacking fruitiness and depth, and even mineral water far from adequately chilled. To top all this, the service was almost comically bad; silly and pretentious opinions were offered about aspects of the food and drinks menu - but alongside this was a basic inability to take our order and serve the food properly, or to clear the table when appropriate. To repeat, do not make the mistake of going to the Klub Knjizevika and having a disappointing time there; this place does not deserve your custom.More

So, food was OK at best, but portions were very small. Extremely overpriced, at least double compared to normal prices in Belgrade. Service was the worst part. The waitress (who is anyways not good at her job), at the end of the evening, after I...asked if there is possibility to tip her using credit card, told me that they dont have option but asked me to transfer money to her acount via mBanking... Unbelievable, that was a first for me!More
