Welcome to Franš, family restaurant since 1982., restaurant that creates fine gastronomy in hedonistic and cozy atmosphere. We focus on premium ingredients, chosen with care. Our cuisine is founded on the freshness of the ingredients and flawless processing. All dishes are prepared at the time of order, without preservatives, chemicals, processed materials and powders. Ingredients that are not thermally processed in the restaurant, are tested in our own laboratory on daily basis. Our seafood menu is fresh, coming from a network of fisherman on the Aegean Sea, Jadran Sea and North Sea, with a special tag stating the date and the place of the catch. Our signature is recognizable on meat dishes, that are grilled on charcoal. We search for unique ingredients and we use only biological products, with excellent quality and origin. Our bread is baked every day in the restaurant bakery, without any additives as our desserts which come from our own pastry, with season fruits or fruits that were frozen at the restaurant. Treat yourself with our menu, and enjoy in our professional and discrete service. For private events - restaurant can accommodate 180 guests indoors, while the garden area offers place for 350 guests (260 places are covered). If you are hosting a smaller group (up to 30 guests), we can offer you a private area, indoor or outdoor. Valet parking on site.

A Belgrade tradition with room for improvement

I really like Franš and I have been here with my girlfriend on numerous occasions. The interior decor, the wonderful garden, the really good service keeps me coming back when I want to feel a little special. There's a classy atmosphere here that stems from tradition and is hard to beat. I also appreciate the little touches here and there, such as the moist towel that is brought to the table to clean your hands and the sparkling wine in the women restroom. The only thing that should be improved is food presentation. A few dishes we ordered appeared unremarkable, such as the pork escalope stuffed with kajmak that I ordered last night. It came with a side of french fries, which were in stark contrast with the classy atmosphere of this restaurant. Perhaps they could reduce the extensive number of items on the menu and improve the general presentation of the dishes. Nevertheless, I will come back here because the service and location is unbeatable.

Absolutely Amazing Food, Service and Ambiance

We come quite often to this restaurant, especially for special occasions such as this one for birthday. Our waiter Dragan Lazic was absolutely wonderful. He was very funny and paid great attention to our table assuring that we had first class service. He also recommended us food and wine and he got everything on point exactly like we were expecting. We had wonderful steaks with black truffles and asparagus with pine nuts, cheese selection, pastas and cigars. In the end we had a pleasant surprise, cake and birthday song which was very sweet of them. We always enjoy visiting this restaurant and we truly have a wonderful experience every time we go and eat there. Valet parking at the top adds to the overall experience too. Definitely recommend this restaurant and will definitely come back. Great work to management. Keep up the good work.

My second favourite restaurant in Belgrade

My second favourite restaurant in the Serbian capital, also a staple of Belgrade, nestled in a weird place under the bridge on the highway but don’t let that foul you ! It’s always well decorated, spring and summer with beautifully arranged greenery and during the winter lovely decoration of lights. Service and food are excellent, a bit pricey for Serbian standards but def worth it. Some of my favourites are homemade lamb soup, steak salad, any meat dish I had I loved. Great domestic and imported wine selections as well, I would recommend Malbec. Pasta are incredible. Leave room for dessert get a sample platter it’s a great way to taste a little bit of everything, traditional mini tulumbe are my absolute favourite

Not the first time here but definitely it’s the last

My husband and I went for anniversary dinner. They gave us the table in “non smoking area” as we have asked for. This non smoking area was just 20cm away from the table next to ours which was smoking area, so we had to move in the middle of dinner. Tables are so close to each other that you cannot hear your own words and you always have feelings that you eat dinner together with the table next to you since it’s that close. It is still very packed but the quality dropped. It wasn’t first time that we are here but definitely the last time. Food: steak is still tender but they got stingy on the side dish and pepper sauce didn’t taste like pepper, and shrimps that I ate were over cooked, Parmesan cheese was dry and old, I had to send it back. Overpriced for what you get. I think you pay for name and service. The best thing in the restaurant is still the toilet, but I come to enjoy the food and the atmosphere not the champagne in the toilet. There are many restaurants with better food, better location, better service and view in the city center and much cheaper than this one.

Unbelievable level of service and quality of food that would rival any restaurant anywhere in the world. If you go to Belgrade and do not visit here you are quite simply not experiencing one of the best in the city. I had an amazing birthday lunch and went back again as it was such an amazing venue. Even though it is under a hectic road you cannot hear this. It’s very peaceful and tranquil with trees, plants, flowers and water features. It’s virtually silver service in terms of the staff. The menu covers everything from traditional to Asian cuisine. Extensive wine and cocktail list. As it was my birthday they provided champagne and a special desert, along with a lovely gift. If it had been triple the price I still would have been happy. We stayed nearby but even if you need to travel to get here you will not be disappointed. I lived in london for 12 years and only a handful of restaurants there can rival the level of service here. You are well looked after from start to finish.

People are ashamed to bring that food to the table

We sat in the garden, the flowers and the ambience of the garden were very nice. A luxury restaurant. They brought a Turkish menu, prices were not written, we chose different meat dishes, chicken and lamb dishes and steak. Except for the steak, the others were very bad, tough and stale. It's a shame that a restaurant like this should have said "it's not available" or "I don't recommend it" even if we ordered it. Unfortunately, we left our plates full. No one asked why you didn't eat it or if you didn't like it. It does not suit such an expensive and high-quality place, I do not recommend it.

The Best in Belgrade, a unique experience!

For hybrid reasons between pleasure and work, we spent a week in Belgrade, and went several times that week to lunch and dinner at the Frans. The first thing to note is that they have a letter in SPANISH, if as you have this option. The place has a lovely interior part somewhat recharged and "rococo", but very comfortable, and a lovely garden exterior part. The service is old school correct and polite, well in general that is something very identity of the Serbian people. It has a wide and comprehensive menu, with prices I consider fair, but perhaps high for the average cost of Belgrade. The dishes are super plentiful and forceful so be prepared to roll off the premises. Traditional and full of flavor, typical dishes with predominance of meats. In our case with wine and glass, we were already moving with the move from the Dinar to the Euro, around 80 € per head, something I reiterate very adjusted to the service, quality of menu and elegance of the place. That’s if you’re going to have to go by taxi, but from the place itself they can make it easier. Of all the places we visit the FRANS certainly the best by far from BELGRADE!

Every time I visite Belgrade I come to Frans and every time it looks like it is even better than before. I love it. The food, the service, the drinks. Love the waiters and the atmosphere... It will not dissapoint.. Please take the bruschetta's with the truffle, you will get blown aways... Until next time.

Wonderful place

Hard to explain the atmosphere of this place. It’s just wonderful whether you are inside (which feels like old school clubby chic) or outside (which feels like a magic garden). I loved it. Lots of big tables but still a very romantic place as well. Seems to be an “occasion” spot for locals I had one night in Belgrade and wanted to pick more traditional dishes. They were a bit heavy and in retrospect I could have chosen better. Serbian red wine by the glass was delicious. I paid €60 for 3 courses and wine (dining alone). A lot for Belgrade but fair, and far less than you’d pay in other cities. Definitely worth what could be a short taxi ride to get here. It’s easily downhill walkable from the new jaw dropping Orthodox Church which is open until 8pm. Makes a good pre dinner stop.

Lunch in the enchanted restaurant

The restaurant has a large outdoor area where it is pleasant to eat during the summer. The choice of dishes is vast. The cuisine seemed rather Italian to me, but it also had local dishes such as rostilj. We chose an appetiser based on peppers and then a trout accompanied by vegetables. The dessert menù was also extensive. We had some crepes and some chocolate desserts. Service was great. The prices reflect the quality of the restaurant.

What a great restaurant. Perfect food excellent place, excellent service!!! Even though its a kind o formal restaurant they were super kids friendly. They gave us recommendation for the menu. Unfortunately we went there for dinner probably it was better to visit at noon so we can admire the place in the daylight. Excellent experience highly recommend

We were looking for top end restaurant and this one was recommended. We have some local dishes and pasta with truffles. While pasta was good, we were expecting much more from local dishes. Ćevapćiči were not grilled as they should be. The restaurant is ok but we were expecting much more.

Everything was great. We went there after we saw the photos here on trip advisor and the location disn’t disappoint. The food was great, the location was fabulous, the service was 10/10. The prices were a bit higher than other restaurants in Belgrade, but cheaper than what we expected given the experience and the food. We would certainly revisit nex time in town!

One of the best dining experiences globally

I’m not sure if I should praise the ambient or service or food here. I have been dining at many different spots around the world over the last 20 years. This place however has been one of the very few to meet all my expectations at once.
