Very good ethno restaurant

Uniqe restaurant in Belgrade, near city center where you can taste rare good boiled in milk, kid with creamed potatos from oven, tasty salads and side dishes. Owner is from mountain Zlatar in Southwest Serbia and can offer about 40 kinds of domestic fruit brandy. Ambient is made of very nice wooden details with wolf in front room. There is private parking also and the stuff is kind and professional.

Chef from hell

I have booked dinner on Saturday for 6 people (3 couples. Waiter was nice, informed and friendly. We first tried different rakija (which was quite good) and order starter: fried paprika with cheese and grilled goat cheese.It was very delicious and tasty. For the main course we took lamb under “sač” and baby goat in the milk, lamb cutlets and pork ribs. Our good experience quickly disappeared after food was served. Lamb and baby goat meet was all bones without flavor and unrecognizable. You couldn’t tell what you have been eating. Instead of cutlets we got totally different piece pf meat. We have complained to waiter and he was confused so he called the owner (who is chef) and he explained “that they were out of cutlets so they served nice but different cut?!? That conversation ruined the whole evening. Musicians were good and for your notice there is musician fee included in the price. Overall experience was terrible, DON’T go there to eat. Drinking and enjoying music is fine

Ordinary traditional food, nothing special, service is average, annoying house band playing/making noise every day from 4pm.

High prices for heated kids portions

What a nightmare... Food was nothing special, it was heated... Portions were so tiny like for kids... And prices were extremely high for what they served..i Will never go there anymore and Will never recommend this place to anyone... A big shame for traditional restaurant...

The looks of the place ain’t bad, same with the brandy they serve. But when it comes to food, it’s too dry and over coocked. Not to speak of how long it takes to prepare the food. The service forgot couple of things we ordered so I guess that’s another thing that’s bad.

One of the finest restaurants of Serbian cuisine in Belgrade

I've been there ten years ago or so, and somehow returned almost accidentally, as a part of a really large group, consisting of some 50 persons. And I will clarify at the very beginning why I gave them only four stars. That night the restaurant was really crowded although we booked our place weeks in advance. Therefore, they should be much better prepared for us than they had performed, which even includes waiting for a drink for half an hour or not getting it at all at the end. Everything else was just perfect and I think they just have to invest more in their staff. It was a cold February evening, while inside was a perfect, warm atmosphere crowned by the operating fireplace. Music band was also excellent, only male group, but they were playing really well and producing great mood and amusement. When it comes to food finally, although it should be in the first place, I can't remember being in a similar restaurant with national food where all dishes are of a same quality and taste. I can't really single out any particular thing, but just all of them - cold cuts, salads, mains, desserts - were truly delicious. At places of this kind, I would always opt for lamb or veal under the "sac", which is a traditional dish-ware with specific approach. I would certainly not wait for another ten years to come again, although I would only recommend to come as a much smaller group.

The best traditional Serbian cuisine restaurant in wider center of Belgrade

If you are a meat lover Zlatar is a place you must dine at. There is absolutely nothing on the menu that is not tasty and well prepared. Our family eats there for 6 years occassionaly and the quality is equally perfect. When we have business guests visiting for the 1st time we usualy take them there to taste Serbian traditional cuisine. Personal recomendation is anything from the barbecue section, pork medallions with kajmak , tartar is also sooo yummy! Wide choice of beer and wine is at guests disposal. Staff is very kind and proffessional.

Disappointed

We were with group of 30-40 people in restaurant, and it was terrible experience. Because we reserved for group a tables couple hours before, and when we get in restaurant we have to wait for first dish about for two hours (all was the same dish for the group), so after that we waited another two hours for main dish, and also we pay 20€ per person for nothing. Because we weren’t served with lot of food that is said, so we were after all was hungry and disappointed.

Traditional food at its best

The location of the restaurant is a bit off main touristic routes, but it is well worth visiting. The ambient is authentic, the waiters are very friendly and helpful. The food portions are large and the food is amazing.

Very nice ethno environment, traditional food

I have visited the restaurant a few times also in 2017 and 2016. The level of quality is same. Very beutiful environment in tastfull ethno style. The food is well prepared, not the best I have tasted but it is good enough. Some of the dishes did not taste as fresh as expected. The waitor was making macho style jokes. I have been there when it was live traditional music and that was a top expiriance well suited for the dinner and the mood. The rakija served seems to be their own brand and it is perfect. Good place to go for larger groups, a joyfull atmosphere is in the air.

Wonderful experience

We stumbled on this restaurant on our way to the graveyard, and it looked pretty cool from the outside, so thought we would have lunch there. It's great inside, with all these great little objects everywhere, and waiters dressed in cultural outfits. The waiter we had was great! We were given complimentary advjar with bread, started off with a mushroom soup and beef soup, then both had grilled calamari which was a excellent. It's fairly pricy, but it's worth it for the experience and the great food. Make this place a 'must do' when visiting Belgrade.
