Avoid if you may. With my Greek/Serbian darker-skinned friend, we visited the place in early September and woman had life-threatening experience, from the guy posing as "owner" - being aggressive toward the woman, while carrying a big dog. "New" name of the place is "New...Marinero") , bridge to the place is over the sewage-like smelly patch of stale water and on the boat-like barge. It has filthy, very old appearence , eatable kichen from previous experience, smiling staff and semi-passable bathroom sanitation, but one thing puts shade to everything: Person displaying as "owner" of the place is the problem of it. He poses as a waiter and brings a big dog around and attacks customers, depending on how you call the dog. We went to wash our hands and large dog scared a girl , as she asked to move it from the path, so she could pass. But instead, waiter impolitely repeated many times the same words, how HE would like dog to be called, but never helped with moving the dog and helping a girl pass. I tried to smooth it out saying it's not important and that she's not from the town, but that was just the start of the problems.. We came in the easy hours in the afternoon (only 4 other people were at two tables at a time) but we have sit waiting for almost 30 minutes to be served. Then I asked for coffee.. but waiter then REFUSED to service us (!). Not only that , when we called to and ask why not serving us, telling it is inappropriate toward us, he approached our table , grabbed glass ashtray from the table behind he's back, as a weapon, and started POUNDING with hands on the TABLE, and SHOUTING at the WOMAN, while swearing at the woman, in the THREATNING and INTIMIDATING way toward her. He shouted at a women with dog names, as she is a dog, loudly and repeatedly, with violent expression on he's face, screaming at her (!) While we were threatened, some of the staff approached behind our backs, maybe with some weapon and offered him help in attacking us from behind (we were sitting), while he was at the front.. - true Balkan Horror story! I couldn't believe my eyes and ears.. We asked him to leave us at piece and tried to express our disbelief of he's terrible acts and threats. Owner instead continued to shout and offered a physical fighting and at that point we started trying to call the police for help. Only when we shouted back and told we will call the police to protect us, then he backed off and moved away from the table.. After 15 minutes more (45 minutes and still still not served in an empty place), some woman approached us, saying she is the real owner of the establishment, and tried to "apologize" for her son.. but terrible deed have been done already, even if we were served out coffee when the personnel lshift came. So we waited for 75 minutes in an empty place to get served and got threats and shouting instead, from the "owner". I don't recommend the place for SAFETY reasons. It's filthy, dangerous and you better not being fooled by the other staff appearance or the "pet friendly" stick on the door - this place is not HUMAN and WOMAN friendly, and your pets could follow suite.More

Food is great: refined quality dishes with pure ingredients and lots of flavour. Staff is very friendly and gives good advice. You really feel welcome here! Good (local) wines. Perfect location: large garden and on the boat/restaurant you can either sit inside or outside, all...with a very nice atmosphere.More

Me and my boyfriend had had a very bad couple of days in Belgrad, because of trouble/cancelation of a tour we booked for western Serbia. We decided to go to Zemun instead and stumbled on this restaurant. You can sit on a “platform” on the...water with a great view of Great War Island. We ordered Turkish coffee and it was the best coffee I have ever had (you will probably only like it if you don’t mind the ground coffee in the bottom of the cup). The waiters were smiley and welcoming and we were happily surprised that the coffee was only 150 din each :D When I asked the waiter how Turkish coffee is made he took us to the kitchen and showed us, and ended up giving me a little kind of pot that is used for it!! :D That was SO nice of him/them! When we left I was smiling so much because of the kindness of the staff and this really cheered us up after a disappointing day! Thank you so much! If we have time, we will try to come back before leaving Belgrade! :D -Theresa and FrederikMore
