SALON We know you're fussy, at least as much as we are. Don't worry, we won't overwhelm you with extravagant recipes just because their names sound good on the menu. You prefer the real thing, and so do we. Our dishes are prepared with delicate attention to detail, carefully nuanced in the hands of masters whose dexterity is measured in split seconds on the grill. But Salon is not just about our immaculate performance in the kitchen. A great restaurant makes you feel great. That's why we value experience above everything, making sure to keep a fine balance at all times. Subtlety without arrogance, simplicity without modesty. Indulgence with a tact, committed to class in every sense of the word

I thought Salon 5 was great. I loved was having a cocktail in the salon area before being brought to the table. My friend who lives in Belgrade had a hard time finding it, but that makes it fun. We had the steak and a...bunch of other stuff. Everything was well prepared and the service was great.More

I had a birthday dinner with my parents at Salon 5, and this was the second time in the restaurant for me. My first visit was a few years ago and I found the place quite nice at the time. First of all, I do...like the ambient and the place is quite interesting and a bit quirky - it does add to experience. Another positive was the seconds - Steak and foie gras both very good, although the foie gras I had at their sister restaurant (Salon 1905) was much better. Cooking was as asked. My parents enjoyed their entrees, although I wouldn’t recommend it to someone with medium to high exposure to Italian cuisine - pasta isn’t great, the seasoning is off, and the dishes are excessively styled to the detriment of taste. The place is expensive. I am more than happy to pay handsomely for a great meal, but this was excessive considering far-from-faultless cooking. I have ball-parked our food at 9000 RSD for two entrees and three main meals, meaning we paid 7000 for our drinks: two spritz aperol, 4 glasses of local white wine, 1 rakija and a bottle of water. This is excessive beyond belief. What has left me with a huge disappointment and has actually ruined the experience for me is the service, which was the worst I have ever experienced in a place that is trying to be fine dining. The waiter was loud, talked too much, kept interrupting and could not “read the room”. What makes service excellent is figuring out what people want from the service. We wanted to be left alone to enjoy our dinner. He has consistently expressed opinions, kept telling us what’s important to him, what he likes (not with food recommendations, but stuff like “I like to ask people what they think about food after the first bite”), he kept pushing various things. He would push me to say what I think even though I was obviously extremely uncomfortable with this sort of service. I did not engage with him but he kept persisting. His table manner was very poor, it included leaning over me and my plate to clear away wine glasses from the opposite side of the table in the middle of the meal. When asked what white wine they have by the glass, he just said “a local white wine”. So only one wine by the glass? That is extremely suspicious to me, and if true, the restaurant is actually a joke, and if not true, the waiter is dishonest. Either case, this is bad. He brought the bottle but didn’t know where the wine was from or anything about it. He made a snarky comment how “he will let me try since I am the expert”. Why, because I asked where the wine is from??? The wine was good, to be fair. I still don’t really know where it’s from or who made it. Even considering faults with food, considering the excessive price, this wouldn’t have stopped me from coming back. The service, has not only made me never want to come back, but has left such a bitter taste in my mouth that I feel like I have to tell people not to go. What a pity.More

The location is a bit unusual - set in an apartment building right out of 1960s Yugoslavia. You must get buzzed in - hoping that you have the right building since there aren’t any signs. However, that’s part of the “speakeasy mystique. Salon 5 has...the definitive character of someone’s home, but that adds to the comfort of the experience. Once you enter you are warmly greeted and guided to the salon for a lovely cocktail and presented the evening menu. I highly recommend the cheese/meat platter to start. I then had the great fortune of enjoying the restaurant’s special - Fois Gras!! I have to admit I was a bit reluctant, but Oh my word!!! Wow what an amazing experience. The food was exquisite. Pillowy light, cooked to perfection. I think I may be ruined because it will be a miracle for anyone to compare.More

Extremely pleasant and huge place to cater for all sorts of guests and taste. Interior original, spacious with very attentive and excellent staff. Offers a meal, or just a drink or coffee and gives you an impression of being someone special and not wanting to...leave. Perfect downtown location close to Kalemegdan park and big Rajiceva mall and of course main pedestrian street. Highly recommendedMore

Fantastic high-end place, with a great food and service. From the moment you walk in you will feel like you have come to the friends house and enjoy the intimate atmosphere. You can have a drink in a salon or fantastic dinner. Service is very...professional and helpful, they will present you an array of drinks and meals with an high specificity. For me personally, the discovery was the wine. Their house wine, labeled 1905. You have to try it, it is fantastic. We were told what winery is bottling for them but i honestly forgot (if someone knows, please do tell) Must visit place when you are in Zemun.More

I was here with my wife for the first time and we were completely blown away by everything we had. Starter Salon 5, steak with foie gras on top of it and Salon 5 duck. One of the best things about their food iz that...they keep it simple and straighforward. Interior is minimalistic and warm and it feels like home. I highly recommend Salon 5 to everyone!More

We loved the fois gras dish. What we did not love was the service. The waiter was a bit too much, to talkative, too pushy, keeps offering staff as if on the house, but then charges us in the end. We did not like this....We ended up paying 200 eur, which for a Belgrade restaurant tbh is a lot of money. Would come back for the fois gras, but hoping he won’t be there.More
