Average food, good athmosfere (authentic musicians), the waiter acted a little unpleasant (arrogant) - Idk why, the only thing I can think off is that I was alone with two teenagers (which is in 21th century pretty wierd).

Due to the good rating as well as the beautiful location, we made a reservation for dinner at Šešir Moj. When we got there, three people (one woman and two men) stood at the entrance and blocked our way. This seemed very strange to us,...but it turned out that they were ushers of the restaurant. The lady approached me directly and asked if we would like to eat with them and under what name I had reserved. After she had assigned me the seat and I sat down, I realized after a few minutes that my phone had been stolen from my handbag. Since I still had it outside the restaurant and no other person was near me I had a hunch that it might be related to the suspicious number of ushers and the distraction. When I went to confront them a few minutes later they had suddenly disappeared and according to the waiter (his name was Dragan) had suddenly called it a day. Strangely enough, it was still very early for closing time and the waiter claimed that they were no longer available by phone. After we asked for the manager, we were told that he was busy inside the restaurant and suddenly the waiter changed his statement that the manager was not working today. However, since we believed this less and less, we were asked to come back the next morning at 11:00 a.m. and the manager would then prove to us by means of video surveillance that their employees had nothing to do with the theft. When we arrived on time the next morning, there was of course no trace of the manager and suddenly no one else knew about the incident either. After the employees had always contradicted themselves and suddenly no one was available, we felt our suspicions confirmed. It seems as if the employees had made a pact to supplement their wages - an absolute no-go and a severe disappointment!!!More
We had a lovely experience. Our ćevapi were wonderful and the prices reasonable. The atmosphere of the Skadarlija and the attentive and kind staff made our day.
I was sat down with the menu and when ordering was told unapologetically by the waiter what they didn't have. I was brought my starter but I was left to go and get the condiments from another table myself. When I received my main course...I asked for another beer which never came. Having seen my waiter rush past serving others with drinks in that time, I decided that coffee and dessert would not be forthcoming so paid my bill to the next available waiter (though getting his attention was challenging) and left. I felt they certainly prioritise local customers, with international customers being something of an afterthought.More
Sunday pm experience at this restaurant was the worst meal we have had in the past three months of traveling. We asked for cold water and a beer. Water was lukewarm (very hot today). We saw another table of locals get a bucket of ice...with their water. We asked for some ice, too, and we were begrudgingly brought one. Out of lamb chops, waiter recommended another lamb dish for my husband which tasted okay but was mostly bones…little meat. I thought I ordered roast cooked in a clay pot…pointed to it on the menu. I was brought a blob of pastry filled cheese. When I questioned the “server” he looked disgusted and said that is what I ordered. It was listed on another page of the menu??? When he continued showing his irritation, but husband said forget it and we would pay for it. He left the table never offering an apology. The cheese pastry was uneatable…there was little cheese inside and the pastry tasted like old grease. I ate the shopska salad I ordered…which looked and tasted like it was made a few days ago. The band…very bad, loud and obnoxiously moved around the room for tips. It sounded like the same song over and over. When leaving, three workers by the entrance watched us leave and never said thank you, come again, etc. They were just talking among themselves…a trio of grumpy old servers. We felt very taken in by a classic tourist trap that definitely does not cater to tourists from other countries. Advice…at least try another restaurant down the street, or our favorite restaurant in Belgrade which is Casa Nova…authentic Italian, kind and grateful for your business…More
We were recommended the restaurant by the hotel where we stayed in Belgrade. We went at 4:45 pm after being told that the live music will start at 5 pm. At the entrance we were visually profiled and declined a table with an excuse 'no...table is free, all are reserved'. We then shared the restaurant card given by our hotel. We were given a table but there was no live music till 6:45 pm. The barbequed chicken was undercooked (came along with the smallest portion of Tartar sauce possible), other dishes tasteless, drinks ordinary. We went believing in the tall claims of "The most authentic restaurant to taste Serbian national cuisine' but left with a bitter taste. The staff did not show sense of hospitality towards international travelers.More
The waiter brought us the wrong order, food was cold, some sauce on the meat was not melting… nothing extraordinary. We have been in other restaurants at the same street and had better experience
I cannot believe , during my previous visit i jumped in to this restaurant , had an unforgettable time there and i gave 5 star at wrong restaurant. But i hope this will be useful. First of all, chill first! You are at Skadarlija. The...loveliest real Bohemian district which is todays touristic quarter of Belgrade. Just relax, because these restaurants are not suitable for snob people. It was my second time in this restaurant in my 3rd visit to Belgrade and each and every time , they are welcoming warmly. Everyone is so nice, cheerful even in hectic Saturday nights. Billions of thanks to our friend Mladen, the best service staff at Skadarlija, always on point with his recommendations. And of course our new cheerful friend Zdravko. Cannot be happier to know this place and these people. Will be back my dear Sesir Moj, we will be back again and again for jiveli^^ Cheers from Istanbul.More
We had breakfast here in the morning sunshine. Food quality was okish, nothing extraordinary. Service provided by the staff was friendly but chaotic despite low volume of customers. They rate themselves at the top 10 of best restaurants in Serbia, at least they've a good...sense of humor.More
We had dinner on a Saturday night, impossible to get a table without a reservation. Great atmosphere, live music and local food offered. Everything we tried was so tasty! We had a great meal and a great experience and we’ll come back for sure.
My wife and I found this place by chance as we had managed to misread our map. We stopped off for a drink and to work out where we had gone wrong. We were made to feel very welcome and, liking the look of the...menu, we decided to return for dinner. We both had cheese starters which were very good and the ordered a pork dish which turned out to be suckling pig cooked to perfection. We are returning to Belgrade for New Year and will definitely be eating here again!More
Interesting place with local food - lot of meat dishes musician band is playing all evening, loudly but worth to visit
WOW! As a fan of the Serbian cuisine, this restaurant was stunning. We had a "mesano meso" for two persons and it was really really good. It's a bit more pricey than the average restaurant in Belgrade but it's totally worth it. The service was...friendly and the atmosphere was great. Some live music would be nice.More
Amazing food, excellent service, a cozy restaurant in the center of Belgrade, we are going to visit again!
Went there to visit work colleagues the food was fine so was the service. The only problem was it was too loud. A local band playing from table to table which made it difficult to talk to each other.I do see why it's so popular,...it just wasn't to my liking.More
