Polet restaurant, a place with long tradition, opens its doors to you. Restaurant is completely renovated, but it has kept the spirit of the old tavern life. It is located in one of the most beautiful parts of Belgrade, on „Flower Square“, across from the „Jugoslovensko dramsko“ theater. During the winter you can enjoy warm and pleasant atmosphere suitable for socializing with friends, and try famous traditional local or Mediterranean cuisine. During the summer our garden is ideal place for you. If you find it important to eat well and not just to „be seen“ then you should come to Polet restaurant!

Good place to meet up after a long day working or looking around. Nice old beers and very large portions of food. Good sausage meals and a very large pork knuckle which two people couldnt finish.

My previous experiences in this restaurant were good, only they were a few years ago.
I went there for a bowl of fish soup. I ordered it with a piece if bread. What I got was looking and tasting like a tomato soup with pieces of chicken meat. And a basket with three pieces of bread, charged so. The bread was tasteful, though.

I have been visiting Polet since my student days. It was always a mediocre place to spend your time as well as to eat something.
Recently I wanted to reserve a table for a few friends when I was confronted by the so called manager at Polet, a person who cannot spell his name correctly let alone communicate with guests.
After this miserable performance by the the so called manager I wanted to talk to his superior but he kept screaming he is the only superior I will ever see.
Polet is absolutely the worst place in Belgrade you can visit, you will only waist your time an feel bad when walking out of it.
Forget Polet!

Simple old-school restaurant based on meat - they offer the regular Serbian stuff (ćevapi, pljeskavica) but also some other things (crispy chicken was my choice, it was very nice). The staff is cool, prices very affordable, and they seem to have some regulars which brings around a pretty nice atmopshere. It also has a nice terrace but don't expect privacy since you'll be seating on a super busy street.

"Greek salad" and oil/garlic/parsley dressing for fish with regular, not olive oil? Seriously? Also the previously famous fried sardines are soggy and unrecognizable from the past. Eating outside is a torture - right next to the busiest street in Belgrade with cars and buses zipping by.

First time here, and I'm already sure it's going to be one of my regular places in Belgrade.
The bend is playing the best local and international rock hits, definitely recommending for everyone who wants to taste real Belgrade vibe!!!

This restaurant deserves a high ranking. Lovely decoration inside. My wife and I were surprised with all the large photos of famous pop and rock stars all over the inner quarters. As we sat, we played a game on guessing the stars on the photos. It was easy though, as we have aged enough to be familiar with most of them displayed, some going back to the 60's, and even further. Soon enough, the first waiter offered us newly arrived wines of the house. High quality white wines. My wife selected the Conte Vallone Muscat, and I took the Sauvignon Blanc. Now these wines were excellent. So good. All kudos to the waiter for his selection. Not being too hungry, we took some fries, a grilled goat cheese, and a pair of whole meal salads, a Caprese with prosciutto, and a Greek salad of 450 g. These were not small portions. It took some time to eat. The waiters were so truly kind, always asking us if everything is OK. After a while, we decided to leave, and then upon paying by card - my bank created a problem, as it turned out later. While the waiter received no confirmation on the payment, at the same time I receive a message from my bank the payment is complete - and this repeated once again. So, the situation is - the waiter has no confirmation of payment - twice, while I received 2 confirmations from the bank on my phone. These things happen, but this is rare. They were so kind to meet with us the next day, as things worked out. This time I did not want another uncomfortable scenario from my bank and decided to pay cash. My wife arrived first at the restaurant, and was served with fine coffee, they even offered her some nice desert, all on the house, while waiting for me. Honestly, this much respect for us visitors I have not experienced a long time.

Had dinner here on our first night in Belgrade. We took the waiter's recommendation of a meat plate. Basically we got a huge mixed grill which was very tasty but way too much food for just the two of us. Service was friendly and the prices are cheap.

Nice and efficient service, plentiful food, reasonable prices. The salad was fresh and good and the pork ribs were excellent, very generous portion. The waiter was very friendly and everything came very quickly.

The restoraunt was renovated and re-opened, but it still has the old charm as couple of decades ago. The interior is a mixture of old Serbian taverns and rock motivated poster details on the walls.
The food is delicious, taste also haven’t changed since. The grilled squid and fried squid are incredible.

We went to Polet restaurant after a longer while and were really pleasantly surprised with the food, service and atmosphere. It was midday and not a lot customers in there, on a hot day, but inside it was air-conditioned and cool. Most of the restaurant is in the basement, but it also has a few tables next to the street.
The service was quick and efficient, the food excellent (fish soup, veal soup, Polet chevap, two drinks, bread), the prices middle range.
It proved a better place, as much as food and service are concerned, than notorious Skadarlia, famous for its bohemian atmosphere.
Polet restaurant is located at a nice square full of cafes on the main street going from Terazije to Slavija square.
I recommend it wholeheartedly and would go there again.
You can have a basic but excellent lunch for two persons there for 20 euros. We were full and happy.
