Restaurant Zavičaj Skadarlija is located in Skadarlija, the bohemian heart of Belgrade, second most visited tourist attraction, where the cult restaurants Devetka, Split and Dva bela goluba once used to be. Great traditional restaurant

Nice, traditional Serbian restaurant serving national quality dishes for a very reasonable price. I ordered the gourmet omelette which came with extra sides, all tasty and in the right portions. Service provided by the staff was friendly but a bit reserved. Recommended.

Good food, however quite expensive and with slow service

Good food, nice ambience but very slow service. We had a great soup (teleca corba), sopski salad and prebranac. The food was really good and tasty, normal portions, however quite expensive. The only negative thing was the service that was very very slow, considering the fact that the restaurant was not even half full. We had to wait for bread that we asked to eat with soup and the staff came with it after we had already finished our soups. Also we were waiting more than 20 minutes for a bill.

A place worth to be visited.

Oh boy! The atmosphere there was amazing. The live music, the food, the good company of the staff, their recommendations, the place. Its worth visiting, at least once either for lunch or dinner. I'd personally recommend going for a dinner, then you should be able to listen a good live music inside the restaurant and enjoy some good food. The good thing is, nearby is Dogma Station and after a good meal you can enjoy a good craft beer :)

Traditional food in a classy setting

On our last day in Belgrade we wanted to try some traditional Serbian food and after reading all the reviews, settled on Zavicaj. At lunchtime we were the only ones inside and there were a few patrons sitting on the outdoor terrace. We really preferred the air conditioned atmosphere due to the heat outside. A massive menu choice and we chose some good dishes to try. Very limited choice for vegetarians. Also for the meat eaters, the menu was largely pork dishes as is expected in Serbia. All the dishes that we ordered were really delicious. The chicken shish, fish grill, the red pepper with cheese, mixed vegetable stew were all fantastic. The desserts were just amazing too. We really had a good time at this place.

Hrana je fenomenalna, uvek sveža, raznovrstan meni. Osoblje prijatno i čini da se osetite dobrodošlo i udobno. Jedno od mesta koje najbolje odslikava sve lepe strane srpskog naroda. Definitino prvi izbog ako želite stranca da upoznate sa vrlinama naše kuhinje. Great and always fresh food, a lot of fantastic Serbian dishes on the menu. One of few places that brings out the most positive characteristics of Serbian hospitality and food. Staff makes you feel welcome, very kind, with worm but professional behaviour. Music just as it should be. Non aggressive and very enjoyable with a lot of Serbian old popular songs. I am from Belgrade and this is my number one option for showing to my foreign friends. I'm to have this restaurant in my city.

Perfect end to Belgrade break

We wanted to end our Belgrade trip on the perfect note and so glad we picked Zavičaj Skadarlija. Delicious traditional Serbian fayre and music, great ambiance, and good prices. The host could not have been more accommodating and attentive. Would love to return in the future. Cheers and Hvala!

AMAZING!!

Visiting from NYC with my Serbian husband. He loves his Serbian food and this place exceeded his expectations. The food was AMAZING! Finger-licking good. And we finished everything. Wow, I cannot say enough how great it was. The service was spectacular as well. So happy and we will come again. Wine was amazing as well. Highly recommended.

Dear guest, We are sorry to hear about the confusion regarding your order at the restaurant. It seems there was a miscommunication or oversight in fulfilling your request to substitute potatoes with a cabbage salad and expecting the change to be made with any additional charges. However, our traditional specialties as well as grill specialties as a main course are served with homemade potatoes. Kindly be informed that a side dish as a complimentary part of the main dish, cannot be substituted with something unrelated, like a salad or another dish. Cabbage salad is not automatically included as a part of the main course and can be ordered separately at an additional cost, as indicated in the menu. As part of the restaurant chain Zavicaj, with a tradition of over 20 years, we believe that when mistakes and miscommunications occur, it can be solved in a respectful manner, without resorting to name-calling or accusation.
