CASA DOINA RESTAURANT, 126 years of tradition, history and tasty food. One of the biggest gardens in Bucharest, over 4000 square meters, hosts the Casa Doina National Monument, the best traditional Romanian restaurant where luxury from the past, good manners and tasty food have been preserved to this day. „Borș de legume”, "Mititei", Dobrogean pie, Duck in the oven, and „Papanași” are just a few of the dishes that made history in our restaurant, served with a variety of wines and live music, offering each guest a unique experience.

We spent a very pleasant evening in this place. The restaurant is not sophisticated, but the food is very tasty and the location is extraordinarily beautiful and well located. Unfortunately the waitress who served us did not have the best day, being tired, bored and uninspired.
I will definitely be back. I recommend this restaurant

This is one of the best restaurants where I've spent many beautiful memories. At every special event from the last couple of years me and my family come here to enjoy the best ambiance, music and first of all, the tasty food and beautiful platings. I've used to walk on the avenue and glance inside and I was even more fascinated when I've stepped inside. Best service with a menu which suprises me every time with a different design. The garden and the beautiful vintage, but renowed building transports me in a time with ladies and gentlemen from a century ago. I am grateful and thankful for all the beautiful moments. Thank you!

We went for a family anniversary and we had a great surprise. The table was central in the garden, the service was fast and all right and the food was very tasty and with big portions. The garden and the faountain are the central items. We recommend it for a night in Bucharest.

I visited the restaurant after a break of more than two years. Being accommodated nearby after a busy day I decided to have dinner there. I was greeted by a very nice waiter but who in the end totally disappointed me. I ordered a soup recommended by him and for main course i asked what he recommended, his answer being grilled shrimp !!!! but they are not included in the menu !!!. I said ok, just be good.(WAS NOT FRESH). I usually don't check my bills, only when it seems exaggerated. The payment note was 338 RON (for one person), ok I told him to put 350 RON with a tip in total. He disappeared and after a while he returned with a separate note of 50 Ron(1 EXTRA FISH) plus 338 Ron. This was the point when I got angry. I wrote this review because I felt robbed.
I looked for the restaurant manager to talk to him but without success.

We were two couples for a dinner. Our opinion was unanimous: dissapaointing. We've been 10 years ago and we expected to find the same high class restaurant.
There is not a great variety of dishes and all we had small portions at high prices. One of the dishes (duck breast) was almost cold. Only two choices of glass wine (it was impossible to find what kind).
The dessert was excellent (pancakes and Doina's cheese dumpling).
There were different groups for private celebrations, with their own music and grills like in a country celebration.

The food is less than mediocre, the waiters are rude and with comunist attitude.
The only nice thing at this restaurant is the garden.
You have 1000 other best good choices in Bucharest so AVOID this old style with low quality food restaurant.

Not that good.
Portions are very small comparing with 3-4 months ago. Does not worth the price.
You pay for everything, bread for example, they put the bread all over the table and you are tempted to think is on the house, but is not.
The orchestra us very noisy and sometimes they are a distress...
Service is pushy, deserts very bad.

+ This establishment has been highly regarded locally for serving excellently prepared traditional Romanian cuisine
+ Very courteous and attentive staff. Our waiter, Sorin, was well informed and generous in responding to our questions about how the various dishes were prepared.
+ Quite reasonable prices considering overall quality
+ The main dining room is elegant with spacious seating, but in good weather the main attraction is the romantic garden
+ There is live music —typically a string ensemble playing romantic pieces.
+ Excellent wine list featuring almost exclusively well made Romanian wines
- Located in a residential area, which gives it a more gracious and relaxed setting, but will require a car service (or a long walk) to get to from the hotels in the center of town.
- smoking is permitted in the garden area, although the spacious seating offsets this a bit.

Just had a family visit to this restaurant. A couple things to mention: medium/average food (we had 2 beef schnitzels, mashed potatoes, mussels, duck and drinkings - water and wine). The food was well cooked, prices a little bit higher, but generally worth it (for the atmosphere/ambiance).
in any case, what upset me the worst is that at the end, when we had to pay with the card, I noticed that the waiter put the tip on the bill on his own, without asking us first! Also, the tip was written on the payment note, but not how it was calculated! It was a sum decided by him/them!!! They introduced tips on the bill without asking/notifying us beforehand! I note that there was no charge/service mentioned in the menu! We specify that in any case we would have left a tip, but we thought it inconceivable that the waiter would put it directly on the bill, without even telling us this!
I have never been in such situation in a restaurant in my whole life and I travelled in almost all Europe!

This place is amazing, if you’re around you should definitely come and eat&relax . The atmosphere is great, with a lot of green and the staff is also very nice. We were attended by Bogdan, he is very helpful and amiable; if you come around ask about him 🤩 He will help you order something from the menu and also answer any questions if you need during your visit. We definitely recommend this place !!🥰🙏

Great experience!
I went there for dinner with friends, we had a table in a very nice garden, the food was excellent, the service was impecable!
Our waiter made very good recomandations and we enjoyed everything, especially the romanian desert, papanasi 🤤🤤🤤!

The grounds are incredible, its like eating in a picteruesque park, so from this standpoint it is amazing.
I was quite disappointed with the food and the service though, the food was quite salty and definitely below what I would have expected. Service was a mixed bag, most of the staff were not very friendly, although my waitress was nice.
The Papanasi for dessert was excellent so it was a saving grace compared to the rest of the food, but maybe I ordered wrong going with more traditional romanian, not sure.
It is also very expensive too.

Returning customer inspired by the place, historic and well manicured. The garden is awesome and the gardener is doing an amazing job. As well as staff, both kitchen and service. Nice setting, nice company, nice food, nice service. Good wine menu and great menu. The Romanian cuisine is well cooked and intelligently downfatted if I may say so. The spinach stew with polenta was amazing. Really surprised. As well as the steaks, pasta and salads.

We spent an evening at Casa Doina as a couple on vacation. The atmosphere was great in this wonderful, very well maintained and deliciously decorated garden. To the sound of the fountain and the music group present that evening, the tone of romanticism was set.
We were served by Sorin that evening. What a virtuoso of service, he was there without being intrusive which is the pinnacle for service. Very attentive, skillful, observant, professional and the cherry on the cake, very friendly and smiling.
We tasted typical dishes such as bulzul, sarmalute, salate de varza. Everything was absolutely delicious. Thanks again to Sorin for contributing to the great success of this evening.
The casa doina is waiting for you, go there with your eyes closed.
